While the 2024 season was supposed to end on a happy note, it left Hunter overwhelmed. The Heisman Award left the two-way star grappling with some serious emotions. Firstly, his father’s absence felt even more as he took to the stage to receive the much-awaited trophy. Just when he might have thought that the happy times would soon roll, the college football fans got extra bitter with his fiancée, Lenee.

Apparently, Lenee’s gesture at the Heisman ceremony did not sit well with the fans. They were angry at the fact that she remained seated while it marked a special event for her beau. Everything got too bitter, so much so that Hunter even deactivated his social media profile. But for the Hunter-Leanna lovers, here is some good news. All thanks to the Buff’s dual-threat’s father.

On January 7, Travis Hunter Sr. posted a picture of the lovebirds. Yes, FINALLY, his son’s bright smile has made a comeback. Hunter posed for the camera in a lovey-dovey way, holding Lenee by her waist as she looked gorgeous in a red-colored halterneck gown. Now fans might be speculating whether it’s an old picture. Well, no, this was from another award ceremony where again Hunter became the winner. 

Even though the Colorado Buffaloes lost to the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl, the two-way star continued to win his personal accolades. His latest victory came after being named the Sports Illustrated Breakout Star of the Year on Monday, January 6. The Colorado-affiliated Smac Entertainment page posted the award poster that read, “Travis Hunter is Sports Illustrated Breakout Star of the Year! ⭐️We are so proud of you! Keep up the amazing work and keep pushing the limits 📈.” Was Hunter waiting for him to be in the limelight to lowkey make a reappearance in public with Lenee?

What made Travis Hunter become aloof on social media? 

Hunter’s fans have been really upset with Lenee even before the award show. In one of the games, the lovebirds were caught in some sort of a disagreement. In the viral clip, Hunter was spotted trying to mend things with his ladylove. As the two-way star was seen leaning forward for a kiss, Lenee refused to reciprocate. This was enough to fuel the fans’ rage. And how could Hunter just stand there and allow his fiancée to get attacked?

So he thought that the best way to stop the hate from spreading was to turn off the comment section of his posts. Well, as we are all aware, his IG posts gave the haters the free pass to spread negativity. Apparently, things looked to be in control. However, some fans decided to poke Hunter by digging up some old clips of Lenee. 

A video went viral where Leanna Lenee was spotted in her alleged ex-boyfriend’s music video. And the internet took no time to spread hate. Even though the clip was from three years ago, Travis Hunter and his ladylove kept on receiving hate comments. Right after that, in another video, she appeared to dance with an unidentified man at some party. That’s when Travis Hunter thought enough is enough.

So, before things went out of his hands, he deactivated his account. However, later on, he stated that his account had been hacked. But the lovebirds making a public appearance was enough to zip up the haters.
