Looks like the Colorado Buffaloes might have caught some bad juju. Their QB Shedeur Sanders is already losing the glitz and glamor, falling in the stocks with every passing day. The Buffs’ dual-threat Travis Hunter’s draft future does not look good either. Back in college, he was crowned as the two-way phenom – but moving into the pro league, he will now have to make the heartbreaking decision of playing for only one position. On that note, an NFL insider gave Hunter an ultimatum. Meanwhile, he will be an interesting athlete to keep an eye on during the NFL Combine.

Hunter did have a sweet ending to his college football career, bagging the Heisman Trophy. In his final year, he racked up 96 interceptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. However, walking into the NFL Combine, he was listed at just one position as a cornerback. Now will it bring a potential shift to his threat level? On The Colin Cowherd podcast, the host gave a rundown of what the future has on hold for Hunter. According to Colin Cowherd, the highly touted athlete might underachieve at the pro level.

“I would put him at corner. But he wants to be a receiver,” the analyst sounded all confident. After all, with the recruiter position, there come a lot of responsibilities. For instance, you can never be a No.1 receiver with a young quarterback on board who leaves no stone unturned to get reps and timing as it’s a timing position. But again it’s Hunter, the athlete who achieved what no other college football player ever has.

Hunter needs no introduction when it comes to performance. He led the Big 12 in receptions (tied for fourth nationally) and receiving touchdowns (tied for second nationally). Bagged the Chuck Bednarik Award – awarded to the best defensive player in college football, Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and the list goes on. But he might have got enough hints that his pro league stint is not going to be as illustrious as his college.

As Travis Hunter slips from the Top 4 he gets a thumbs up from NFL star

Looks like the Top 4 race is over, folks! As per FOX Sports Research’s current projection, Hunter will have the gift overall. Now, come on, it seems low for the Heisman Trophy winner. As he falls to the 5th spot, he can be taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars. After all, they right now had the worst pass defense in the league this year. They gave up a whopping 257.4 pass yards per game.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Travis Hunter's NFL future as bright as his college days, or is he set to underachieve?

Have an interesting take?

In that case, Hunter will be a great supplement to Brian Thomas Jr., who emerged as a star at the receiver spot in his rookie season. Forget No.5, an NFL legend envisions the Buffs dual-threat only as the top pick. That’s none other than Adam “Pacman” Jones. Well, the former Tennessee Titans star had already dropped a big hint on how the Titans would not opt for quarterback now that they hold the No.1 overall selection. Then what’s their preference?

The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Jones stated, “He will be the No. 1 pick. There’s no way he’s not going to be the No. 1 pick.” Now he himself had been lucky to get snaps on offense, defense, and special teams early in his NFL career. So what suggestion does he have now for Travis Hunter? Jones said that he would start him at the corner. “There’s no way he can play 170 plays in the NFL, week in and week out, and practice three days a week.” The verdict is clear — Hunter’s impact at CB is unmatched!
