Get ready for the Clash of the Titans! A major showdown is on the horizon in Tuscaloosa as the Alabama Crimson Tide gets ready to face one of its toughest rivals in the SEC—Georgia Bulldogs. On Saturday, September 28, Alabama will host Georgia in a game that could greatly impact both conference standings and the race for a spot in the newly expanded College Football Playoff. The big question now is whether the weather will cooperate for this highly anticipated matchup.

On game day, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from a high of 83°F to a low of 63°F, and a slight evening breeze. However, rain could be a factor. College Football analyst Josh Pate, on his September 22nd show, gave a surprising update on the forecast, stating, “We got Georgia at Bama this Saturday night at Bryant Denny Stadium. I’m monitoring the Gulf. I believe we’ll have a hurricane by this time two days from now.”

Pate went on to say, “I believe it will make landfall. I believe it will impact the game.” Well, he’s referring to Hurricane Helene, which is currently forming in the Gulf of Mexico and could affect the southern region, including Tuscaloosa. This potential storm has people wondering if the weather will play a spoiler for the big game.

Regardless of the weather, thousands of eager fans will be in Tuscaloosa to watch Kalen DeBoer face the Bulldogs for the first time as a Bama HC. While a hurricane could certainly disrupt things, DeBoer is focused on preparing his team and making the most of this crucial game. Whether it’s clear skies or stormy weather, all eyes will be on this epic SEC clash.

The secret to winning in college football? Know your rivals for good. The Alabama-Georgia rivalry dates back to 1895 when the Bulldogs defeated the Crimson Tide 30–6. However, Alabama has mostly dominated the rivalry, especially in recent years under legendary coach Nick Saban. Just last season, on December 2, 2023, Alabama beat Georgia 27-24 to claim their 30th SEC title.

Even though Saban is now retired, his influence still lingers. Some say his tips and tricks are being passed down to new head coach Kalen DeBoer through his ‘open door’ policy. The UGA Football on Dawg podcast even joked, “I just don’t know if you can have two head coaches. It’s important for Alabama to be coached by Kalen DeBoer right now. Not by Nick Saban.”

But the numbers don’t lie. Out of the 73 meetings between the two teams, Alabama has won 43, including eight of the last nine matchups. The big question now is whether Alabama can continue its winning streak in this post-Saban era.
