Jalen Milroe's dual-threat dominance: Is he the key to Alabama's playoff dreams this season?

A pull on the pants! What an iconic way to drag someone out of an unwanted situation! Aside from the big win over LSU, Jalen Milroe has more reasons why November 10 would be a memorable night to remember, as his fan base went crazy after their wild 42-13 win against the Tigers on Saturday in Baton Rouge.

In a hilarious YouTube short uploaded by espncfb on November 13, Jalen Milroe was pulled back by fans who wanted to get a picture with him from the stands. As Milroe lifted his hands up to pose, a hand holding a bottle of beer accidentally spilled the contents on his chest, and he appeared visibly turned off. By the looks of his face, the 21-year-old must have been more than glad when the coach dragged him out from the crowd’s grasp.

Everything went well. So why an apology? It wasn’t the time for Alabama receivers to shine, who recorded 109 receiving yards with no touchdown catch in their last victory. But Jalen Milroe’s heart went out to them as their 17-year-old freshman WR Ryan Williams said, “He’s a bal-er; he’s a dog. We’re on the sidelines, (and) he’s like, ‘I’m sorry.’ I’m like, ‘Bro, look at your stats. We don’t care. We’re winning.’ So we’re just proud and happy for him and glad to be a part of his team.”

Despite a couple of low games, Jalen Milroe still remains a star and a potential Heisman candidate. This season, he recorded 2,046 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. In the rushing game, he leads Alabama’s single-season record with 565 yards and 16 touchdowns. With this win, Kalen DeBoer advances in the playoff picture in his first year after Nick Saban. They still have three more games on their schedule, starting with 9-1 Mercer. Can they remain undefeated through these final challenges to hold on to their playoff hopes?
