Kalen DeBoer’s debut season as an Alabama head coach is knocking off. Some predicted that DeBoer would not be able to continue Nick Saban’s dynasty with 6 national championships. Whereas, some believed in the managing ability of Alabama’s HC. On Monday, Nick Saban made a prediction on the SEC championship and he said “The Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns would meet in the SEC Championship“. Therefore, the former coach has shown how much faith he has in Alabama.

However, Kalen put his heart and soul into keeping the legacy of the Alabama locker room and the performance traits of the team by recruiting some masterminds. Tyler Booker, Alabama’s offensive lineman, is one of them. Once he said, “There’s only one Coach Saban. There’s also only gonna be one Coach DeBoer. Coach DeBoer is always walking around with a smile on his face.” Hence, star OL is quite hopeful for Alabama’s win this year under DeBoer without coach Saban.

Tyler Booker’s response to Alabama’s standard

On August 27, 2024, CBS Sports College Football shared a post on their IG account regarding Tyler’s opinion on team standards, and the post mentioned, “Everyone thinks that with coach Saban being gone, we’re not going to be the same. The standard lives through us.” So, the offensive lineman is pretty clear that the team would not demolish the dynasty even without their remarkable coach Saban.

The most intriguing fact is that despite losing the top two cornerbacks from last season, Alabama did not lose hope of becoming a playoff contender in the 2024 season for the SEC title game. On this note, Booker said, “I feel like whoever took this job had the heart because they knew what they were succeeding after Coach Saban.” Hence, it seems like players share a deep collaboration with DeBoer to offer another championship to the Crimson Tide. 

Tyler’s optimistic feeling for Kalen DeBoer’s team management

During SEC media days, Tyler became vocal about his positive feelings regarding the Crimson Tide’s 2024 season. Moreover, he showed trust in the head coach as well as other teammates like Jalen Milroe, and Malachi Moore, for improving pass protection skills and he added “Now we have some new guys on the offensive line, and we are honing in on those pass protection skills.“

However, Booker made it clear that irrespective of who leads the way, be it Saban or it could be DeBoer,  their mindset would be unchanged. Further, he stated, “We want to go out and dominate. We still want to make people quit, and that’s never going to change.” Currently, fans are eager to see Alabama’s performance in the absence of Saban’s coaching.
