The game week has started and fans are excited to see what Kalen DeBoer and the Crimson Tide manage to pull this season. With the fall scrimmages over, we saw the boys giving us glimpses of greatness. With QB Jalen Milroe landing a 50-yard TD and Ryan Williams managing a solid footing on the defense. The team looks great. However, there are some issues which they need to get over soon.
Back on YouTube, during a press conference, a journalist was quick to ask DeBoer for an injury update regarding the boys. “Do you have specific updates on Jaden Roberts, Jam Miller, and Jeremiah Alexander?” the question was raised. DeBoer was quick to provide us with all the updates we needed. “Jaden and Jam would be ready to go. Jeremiah would not expect him,” DeBoer noted. Jaden, who will be the starting right guard for the team, has suffered a minor hand injury during the scrimmage, and Jam, who is the starting RB, is going through minor health issues. DeBoer has informed the press that both these players will be ready to go before their opener against Hilltoppers. Other than this, the team is all set to perform solid during the 2024 season. Former HC Nick Saban has shown great faith in what DeBoer could achieve this year with the Tides.

Way back Saban had noted that he expects to see Georgia and Texas make it to the SEC championship. However, on August 23rd, the former HC noted that it was just one of his tricks. “it’s reverse rat poison for Alabama,” Saban had informed on the Pat McAfee show. Nick knows that DeBoer can lead this team to a solid run. The man has changed the entire offense strategy of the team and has ensured that the plays we expect from them are explosive. DeBoer has the experience of handling over 100 games under his belt. That combined with the skill and knowledge he had showcased to make Sioux Falls 3 times championship winners should give you enough confidence of what he can do with the Crimson Tide. If we look at the recent progress as well, QB Jalen Milroe has shown immense improvement under DeBoer. While with Saban, the kid had recorded a season with an accuracy and completion rate that hovered between 55-60%. With DeBoer, Milroe’s accuracy has already spiked to 70%. While DeBoer has established himself as the best person to lead the Tides, recently we did see him take somewhat of a hit to his recruitment.

As the Tides fans get ready to scream “Roll Tides” on September 1st, On3 brought us some sad news for DeBoer’s 2025 recruitment class. On3 reported that 4-star LB Jaedon Harmon has decided to pledge to the Vols. There was a 97% prediction that Harmon would be joining the Tides. However, all of that failed as Harmon switched his commitment at the last moment. This can be considered a major loss for DeBoer and his 2025 class.

This makes the entire Vols and Tides rivalry even more interesting. We all know that Nick Saban held a record of 15 wins against Josh Heupel and the Vols. Heupel and his team did manage to grab a win back in 2022. However, Saban came back and got a 52-49 win over the Vols back at Knoxville. With DeBoer losing Harmon, Heupel gets a one-up on the Tides. However, we are yet to see who comes out on top when the 2 giants clash again.
