Can Alabama overcome their injury woes to take down the Georgia Bulldogs, or is this game already lost?

The Dawgs vs the Tide. Pretty sure every CFB fan right now is waiting for this game. Kalen DeBoer is on a rampage while standing at the helm of the Crimson Tide. The season opener game saw the Tide dominate and win 63-0 over WKU and then came the second game where Alabama went 42-16 against South Florida. Kalen DeBoer is yet to prove that he can carry forward Nick Saban’s legacy, but hey, 2-0 start. What’s to complain about? Well, there have been issues, especially the unconvincing 42-16 victory in Week 2. DeBoer also needs to account for the injuries that might hamper the long-awaited game between the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide.

On September 10th, Charlie Potter brought us some much-needed injury updates regarding Alabama players. Currently, Cole Adams has sustained an upper-extremity injury. DeBoer had noted, “Will see how it goes through the week here.” This raises some concerns. This injury will force DeBoer to limit Adams and his presence on the field. Adams is the WR and punt returner for the team and till now has managed to return 7 punts. The good thing is that Kadyn Proctor is making good progress with his shoulder injury. “He’s coming along real well, especially at the end of last week,” DeBoer had noted regarding Proctor’s injury. We are yet to see Proctor make some plays for the Tide. That guy got injured during the pregame warmups. Finally, Elijah Pritchett, who has taken Proctor’s place, is going quite well. DeBoer had mentioned Elijah had sustained “a minor ding”. However, as of now, he is doing fine. “Practiced Wednesday and Thursday. So, was ready to go. Probably worked a little bit more on the left side,” DeBoer mentioned. While the updates are good, something just feels off.

Any Tide fan would spot that whatever DeBoer has noted feels too diplomatic. This raises some concerns. Until or unless game day comes, we won’t know for sure how severe the damage is. For now, we do know that the current state of Alabama is good enough to survive still September 29th when they finally face Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs. However, it doesn’t look like DeBoer is the only one with a disadvantage here because the Bulldogs have also sustained some serious injuries.

Can the Dawgs bounce back and face Kalen DeBoer and Tide?

The Bulldogs injury report, which we got on September 8th, paints a concerning picture regarding the team. Around 10 players have sustained injuries, and out of the 10, 7 have been ruled out of the game because of injuries on their leg, shoulder, and toe. While the team and Smart did solid during their opener game against Clemson and then against TN Tech, the injuries could cripple the team when they go up against the Tide.

Another serious problem that happened last week was Mykel Williams sustaining a Grade 2 ankle injury. On the September 8th report, it was noted that Smart had decided to bench Williams until he recovers fully. This is the same thing that fans had asked Smart to do back on September 3rd. The Bulldogs will need Williams if they wanna have a proper game against the Tide and Kalen DeBoer. We have seen how good Alabama’s offense and defense have been. While the South Florida game did manage to push the team to its limits, they still effortlessly managed to dominate in the fourth quarter. If DeBoer and his boy get the chance, then it is over for Kirby Smart. However, we still gotta wait till September 29th, folks.
