Did someone just pull a UNO Reverse for Kalen DeBoer? Looks like so. Ever since the GOAT Nick Saban’s era, the head coach has been in a very respectable position in Tuscaloosa. But poor DeBoer! Maybe his luck didn’t favor him. Unlike Saban, the new HC got mutated into a letdown legend. Courtesy? Of course, had to be one of the most disappointing losses against Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, October 5. Maybe the fans dreamed too big and were about to place DeBoer on Saban’s pedestal. But that’s surely not going to happen anytime soon. Looks like ‘Kalen DeBoer’ is the most disturbing word they would hear at the moment. The frustration is so real that it goes behind just DeBoer’s coaching.   

That’s what you call a lackluster performance. Generally, it’s Kalen DeBoer’s Tide that acts as a magnet to attract all the compliments. But this time against the Commodores, their below-average performance has been enough to repel their fans away. After all, Vanderbilt broke a 40-year-long strike and this time victory tasted a little sweeter since Alabama is the No.1 program. 40-35, that too against DeBoer’s squad is no joke! One game and instead of ‘Roll Tide,’ they became ‘Troll Tide’ turning the Alabama community against DeBoer. Going by the sources, Tide’s AD Greg Byrne would let the debut HC know “how this isn’t acceptable.” But the fan doesn’t think that the boosters are going to suffice to stir DeBoer. Now that the Tide lost so badly, the Saban vs. DeBoer comp became less vibrant. “Saban was the King and you didn’t question him (never had to) but DeBoer is nowhere near that level,” wrote the fan. 

A verbal and staunch reminder is the need of the hour as he requests, “I want someone to physically let him know that was an embarrassment to the program.” It’s evident that DeBoer has slipped into Alabama fans’ blacklist. So much so, that they now even have problems with the debut HC’s attire. 

From coaching blunders to fashion crimes, fans slam Kalen DeBoer

Initially, the only thing that disturbed the Alabama fans was the stark contrast in Saban’s and DeBoer’s coaching styles. While it has been the primary concern, the real hate that the new HC reeled in, makes his dressing game terrible too. As a Tide fan wrote, “Say what you want, but what we saw yesterday starts with Kalen DeBoer wearing a f- – – – – – T-Shirt on the sideline. Have some f- – – – – – pride about yourself, look professional and wear a f- – – – – – polo. We don’t wear f- – – – – – T-Shirts because this shit means something to us.” Maybe it shows DeBoer’s lack of professionalism in some way. 

Another fan too raised his concern about how the new HC’s attire was reminiscent of how he had taken things lightly, “His shirt selection has been terrible while on the sideline this year. where does he find these shirts? He is dressed like the water boy. Not expecting a coat and tie, but maybe a shirt with a collar?”

Well, the other group was not even interested in his clothes, only the numbers. As one of them pinpointed Tide struggling defensively with DeBoer on board, “Alabama has taken a massive step back defensively under Kalen DeBoer. Crimson Tide rank in the SEC’s bottom-half in nearly all statistical categories.”

The frustration officially hit the roof as another fan dished out an open warning directly tagging the HC, “NO MORE F – – – – – – PODCAST! NO MORE FAKE JEWELRY! NO MORE WEIRDO A- – YOUTUBERS TOURING THE FACILITIES. NO MORE OF THAT BULLS- – – A- – SWARM DEFENSE! WE LOST TO F – – – – – VANDY. FIX THIS S- – – BEFORE IT GET HECTIC @KalenDeBoer.” To which, another frustrated fan came with a stern warning, “And no more TShirts!” Looks like instead of becoming Saban 2.0, Kalen DeBoer’s become more like Saban 404 — not found.
