Georgia clinched a narrow 22-19 victory over the Texas Longhorns, but it came at a steep cost. Their star quarterback, Carson Beck, suffered a devastating elbow injury during the game, ruling him out for the rest of the season. The victory was bittersweet for Georgia, as they suffered the loss of a crucial player in their campaign. Despite the heartbreak, Beck’s family, particularly his mother, has provided unwavering support, demonstrating that even though his season may be over, his journey is far from complete.

Well, it’s a known fact that Carson Beck had his own struggles this season in terms of his gameplay. He threw for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, completing 64.7% of his passes. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing; he had some rough stretches with multiple interceptions in three straight games and 11 total picks over five games. However, everything was under control until he suffered a right elbow injury that required surgery, keeping him out of the playoffs. It’s definitely a season of highs and lows for Beck.

Now this gave critics and media an upper hand to give him a hard time, plus Gunner Stockton in the team made it look like there is going to be a zero impact on the team’s performance after Carson Beck’s exit. Pretty harsh, right? But Mumma’s got your back, Beck. With all the uncertainties swirling around Carson Beck’s future, one thing is for sure: her mother, Tracy Beck, supports him. Her IG story is a perfect depiction of that, as it says, “Strongest person I know. Love ya!” With pictures of Beck and her hugging each other. That’s what you need on hard days to cope with struggles.

Let’s be honest: despite inconsistencies, Carson Beck propelled the Georgia Bulldogs to the playoffs. But now all people can remember is what he did wrong. But now it’s more about winning than anything else. We saw Gunner Stockton’s game against the Longhorns in the second half when Carson Beck went out after an injury in his throwing arm.

Stockton really did showcase a remarkable hold over the game by completing 12 out of 16 passes for 71 yards and one interception. Moreover, he also had eight carries for eight yards. That’s some top-notch quality he has, but one thing constantly strikes your mind: Is Gunner capable of taking over the game in Beck’s absence?

Gunner Stockton an absolute replacement for Carson Beck

With all the doubts raised over Carson Beck’s future, whether he is going to return to the Bulldogs for one more season or will declare for the NFL draft next year, one thing is quite certain: Gunner Stockton is the one threat for the Dawgs future against Notre Dame next week. Now the real deal is how this new backup quarterback will perform against a team that ranks no. 1 in the country for its pass efficiency defense. But it’s also a chance for the Dawgs to show a different offensive game than they’ve been showing the whole season.

Even Nick Saban highlighted the one key point in which Stockon is better than Carson Beck saying, “The one thing he gives them in addition is he is a little better runner.” Well, that is actually going to help them to maintain their game against Notre Dame. Moreover, Coach Saban also mentioned that he has known Gunner since he was eight years old and even tried to get him in Bama.

Nick Saban is quite sure that Gunner Stockton can take Georgia’s offense to new heights, but the question remains the same: it’s Notre Dame we are talking about. If Gunner can beat them, it will forever mark a long-lasting impression on everyone’s minds.
