Michael Irvin and the Dallas Cowboys may need to put an end to their draft expectations right now. After the Cowboys’ fifth consecutive loss, there had been talks about them bringing in Shedeur Sanders, who was a potential top-5 prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. But the new CFB Report changed the whole perception and dampened the Cowboys’ hopes.
Perhaps it’s time the world recognized the athletic ability of the Buffs QB without taking his flashy personality into account. On Tuesday, ESPN NFL draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest quarterback rankings for 2025. CBFRep shared the update on X on November 20, where Shedeur Sanders is the No. 1 QB in the updated NFL Mock Draft released on November 19. He’s followed by Cam Ward, Jalen Milroe, Carson Beck, and Quinn Ewers, who round up the top 5.

Michael Irvin believes that if Shedeur Sanders comes to Dallas, Deion Sanders would follow suit. The 3x SB champion and former Cowboy said, “I believe 100%. And I can tell you, good sources have told me that. Great sources have told me that. That’s all I can say like that without violating anything else.” The revelation suggests that there’s surely a plan brewing in the background. But what happens now?

There’s a chance that the weakest NFL team is going to draft Shedeur Sanders, which happens to be the Jacksonville Jaguars. The $4.6M franchise topped the first-round order heading into Week 12 of the regular NFL season. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are at No. 9 on the list, making their goal to draft the QB1 an impossible scene at where they’re at. Perhaps a trade-up is looming. So let’s see how Shedeur managed to top other elite QBs like Cam Ward and Quinn Ewers.
Is Shedeur Sanders the best QB this season?
To lead a program that went 4-8 last season to 8-2 this season is an achievement in itself. Through ten games played, Shedeur Sanders is averaging 323.9 passing yards per game and 8.6 yards per attempt. He recorded a total of 3,222 yards, and his 27 touchdowns and 74.3 completion rate are the highest in the Big 12.

What’s your perspective on:
Could Shedeur Sanders be the savior the Cowboys desperately need, or just another pipe dream?
Have an interesting take?
Shedeur Sanders also topped the Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department’s latest big board as the No. 2 overall QB, thanks to his accuracy and quick throws. Hopefully, this rise in the board won’t serve as “rat poison” for the star that could stunt his growth. Colorado will look to reverse last season’s record with their upcoming games against the Kansas Jayhawks and Oklahoma State. If they clear these games, they could have a legit chance to make a playoff appearance.
