Now if you walk by the streets of Oregon, your ears will be only listening to one word, and that’s Dillon Gabriel. Yes, Dan Lanning’s star QB has been the talk of the town. After all, the 23-year-old young chap shot up to success, making NCAA history in the Oregon Ducks’ massive victory over Maryland. However, Gabriel has yet to hit the settle button. So what if he is only 20-something years old? That did not stop him from planning on how to leave his legacy behind. Wondering why we are talking about Gabriel leaving? Looks like Lanning’s QB has already found himself on the NFL radar, with his stocks seeing a sharp rise.
With an 11-0 record, Oregon is back in the spotlight, and Gabriel has been a major reason why. On November 9, Oregon defeated Maryland 39-18. Wait, the game had much more to offer than the win. Thanks to Gabriel, who broke the NCAA record for total career touchdowns on a three-yard pass. His TDs were enough to pass Case Keenum’s previous record with his 179th total touchdown. With this, the CFB world looks up to Gabriel as their guru. So on the ZenGame QB Show, Lanning’s QB talked about setting the record straight when asked, “What do you hope your legacy that you leave on this game?”
That’s when the signal callers story comes into light. Gabriel started with, “Just a guy who’s never taken a day for granted.” He then sent thanks to the people who helped him to reach this far: “Appreciated the people he’s been around always made the environment better the morale better.” He then calls himself a “leader and is a winner and that’s in every area of my life.” And how could Gabriel forget the teamwork he has put in with his Ducks teammates?

Dillon Gabriel’s resume that speaks volumes
If we start taking notes of Gabriel’s achievements, we would soon be tired, as the list would be so exhaustive. The Hawaiian native has thrown for 22 touchdowns, making him the No.6 in the nation. He also holds a completion rate of 74.1 percent, which is No.1 in the nation. Besides, he has now qualified as a top contender in the Heisman race and has also been announced as a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award and the list goes on. All these were enough for the NFL spotlights to fall over him.
Going by the projections, Gabriel is going to be a Day 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Even though he is going to turn 24, this December, which is too old for any prospect, looks like the big league will be ready to sacrifice this criterion only and only for the QB being the powerhouse of talent.
