What more surprise does the 2024 kickoff has in store for the CFB fans? Well, it’s auction time. And guess who are the organizers? None other than the talk of the town- Vanderbilt Commodores. Already the fans had a thrilling weekend. After all, it’s a rare sight to witness Kalen DeBoer and Co. pack their bags and leave. With this, Clark Lea’s squad decided to keep the spirits high and arrange an auction. It’s just a way of celebrating something big. After all, since 1984 it has been their first win against the Tide. But they went overboard with their celebration losing $100k.
Sprinkling salt on DeBoer and Co.’s wounds by auctioning off memorabilia from the magical evening. How brutal yet cool is that! The Tide is yet to get over the trauma of a 40-35 blow at the FirstBank Stadium on October 5. But the Commodores are not going to hit the SETTLE button anytime soon. They rather come up with a sly plan to further upset DeBoer’s squad. But not just to pester Alabama. They are just cashing on their fines. As found, Vanderbilt is currently auctioning off items from Saturday’s shocking upset win. The Commodores fans stormed to the field looting items like they were gold bars. But as per the updated SEC policy, schools are bound to pay a fine if they storm a field to the team they stormed against. Being the first-time offender, Vanderbilt had to pay $100,000.

The list of the memorabilia from their first-ever win over a top 5 team ending a remarkable streak of 60 consecutive losses they have put up for sale is pretty long. Among the available items, there are two goalposts, one 4-inch and the other one 8-inch. It has been found that both the goalposts have been sold at $1005 and $4035 respectively. Now let’s check on the other items.
There is a personalized game helmet priced at $7,290. The list also has three pylons, the current price for two of the pylons is $1,000 while the third one is priced at $920 and the fourth is $880. The two game balls that are yet to be sold are going out for $2675 and $2750 each. That’s what they make out of what Lea stated as a “dream.” While it has been a dream come true moment for Vandy, DeBoer now becomes the epicenter of fan fury.
Disappointment reaches new heights as fans call out HC Kalen DeBoer
The Crimson Tide fans were ready for a loss to Georgia, As DeBoer’s tribe gifted a shocking victory over the Dawgs, losing to underdogs like the Commodores had never been part of the plan. On the Paul Finebaum Show, on the LEGEND segment, an angry fan went focal about what all Tide fans might be going through right now. While the speaker remains anonymous, he went on with his rant, “Paul, I’m in sports hell, brother.”
The frustration has reached its peak, so much so that the fan dished out a stern warning calling out the HC, “Alabama don’t lose to Vandy. We just lost to Vandy. That is friggin’ pathetic Coach DeBoer.” The statement that followed clearly hints that the DeBoer-Alabama chemistry has hit rock bottom, “The honeymoon’s not only over but we need some serious marriage counseling between me and you dude.”

When you start to dislike someone, everything that person does seems to irritate you. That’s exactly what happened to Kalen DeBoer as the fans now have a problem with his dressing game too. Like an angry fan commented, “Say what you want, but what we saw yesterday starts with Kalen DeBoer wearing a f- – – – – – T-Shirt on the sideline. Have some f- – – – – – pride about yourself, look professional and wear a f- – – – – – polo. We don’t wear f- – – – – – T-Shirts because this shit means something to us.” Now, DeBoer’s race is on to restore that lost pride. Will he be quick enough?
