Home/College Football

We would’ve personally thrown you in the asylum if you had suggested, at the start of the season, that the Commanders would throw a 45-pointer bomb against the #1 seed for the NFC champ seat. But here we are. The entire Lions vs. Commanders game can be summed up with- Rookie players making Veteran plays and Veteran players making Rookie mistakes. No hard feelings!! We love ourselves some Jared Goff, but you cannot sit there and say Jayden Daniels wasn’t Magic Mike pulling those slick moves in the gridiron… Ain’t no wonder it is “Money Money Money” for the rookie QB.

But success breeds hate. “Almost making Carson Beck money…..” Peter Burns from ESPN wrote on X while sharing a post on Daniels getting a $6.75 million payout. Okay, since we are talking about big cheques, the disparity between Daniels’ payday and Carson Beck‘s is hell and heaven difference. See, first of all, you gotta keep in mind that out of the “reported” $10 million that Beck is getting, around $4 million comes from the NIL.

And another $4 million comes from his contract with Canes. Yeah, he is holding big bags, but can you honestly compare this to what Daniels is getting paid? 2024 and his salary cap is around $6.8 million. However, the overall cash payout is around $25 million.

On the sheet, it’s an OTC valuation of $43 million vs. $10 million. Now we ain’t no math genius but saying, “Almost making Carson Beck money…..” and then looking at millions in difference, well, math ain’t math-ing, Burns…

And how can we even forget the endorsements? Beck is fighting his demons on Tik-Tok while Daniels just led Washington to their first-ever run for the Super Bowl in the last 33 years. Do you have any idea the number of deals that are going to walk in through the door? But before we even get to all that, we gotta talk about another NFL star who got “humbled” by Beck’s big cheques.

Bo Nix in the crosshairs

Okay, what is even happening at CFB, man? At this point, this is Squid Games for who gets the bigger NIL deal. See, Bo Nix was picked by the Broncos as the 12th overall. Hence, his contract wasn’t something to write home about.

$18 million deal, with the cap hit for 2024, being $3.3 million. Now, Beck has pulled a miracle pill for himself. Remember the Miami contract? So, with that shoulder injury, getting drafted into the NFL would’ve been a hog-fest for Beck.

At least he was intelligent enough to realize that and switch alliances, right? So, Miami is again on the run to pay a big price to an already-trained quarterback to replace their old starting quarterback. Looks like Mario Cristobal has a weird ritual of trying to escape the headaches of training a rookie QB, huh?

However, that $4 million deal outpaces Nix’s $3.3 million cap. Now, as we pointed out regarding Daniels, this does not include endorsements and all that so Nix could be making way more in the league. Still, it’s flat-out weird that college dudes are banking bigger cheques than NFL talents…. Good for them, good for them.
