Is Deion Sanders' tough love the secret to Shilo's resilience, or does it cross the line?

Why look for outside validation when you are bombarded by a flow of validation from your immediate family? That’s how lucky Colordao Buffaloes’ safety Shilo Sanders is. Even though his parents Deion Sanders and Pilar Sanders are separated, when it comes to motivating their son, they often give each other tough competition dedicating themselves to the ‘Hype Shilo’ mission.

While his mother Pilar’s love might come off as blind who did damage control after Shilo’s ‘horrible’ play, father Deion is very particular about his son’s moves. But not to worry, Shilo has fought back his ‘favorite son’ status from Coach Prime.

Have you ever imagined how it’s tough for Deion to choose his favorite kid out of five? But right now we know who it is. On October 21, Well Off Media captured a clip from the Buffs training where Coach Prime was trying to be extra soft with Shilo. The Buffs HC went like, “Come here favorite son, favorite son come here.” However, the safety remained indifferent to Papa Prime’s heartfelt call. But why so?

That’s because Deion Sanders Jr., aka Bucky, was behind the camera. As we all know, he has always been Deion’s favorite son, being the first-born. Thus Shilo thought of pulling his big brother’s leg as he replied, “No I can’t be on Bucky.” Well, it was just Deion’s way to make up for his harsh criticism after Shilo got pounded badly by Kansas State as he missed multiple plays and even got juked by DJ Giddens in an awkward position.

Of course, it’s not a pleasant feeling for any father to see his son getting stripped off for not putting up his best. Maybe that’s because Deion got way too upset and got extra harsh on Shilo during his post-game interview. “I thought he played horrible…I thought he was rusty, he didn’t have his footing.” Shilo did not get the Papa Prime advantage. Luckily, he had got his mother, Pilar’s back through thick and thin.

So how could Shilo not make his mother proud? He picked up his broken pieces after the Kansas State mishap and made the most out of the Arizona face-off. As the Buffs crushed the Wildcats 34-7 on Saturday, October 19, the safety faced the camera with a ‘Now say what you gotta say’ vibe. After being thrown under the bus for his ugly feat, Shilo was back on his feet again and had a message for the crowd, “What you hating on me last week, and do you want me to keep going?” The clip was later shared by his proud mommy who captioned it as, “Yep! Keep that same energy.” Now you know where Shilo got it from.

Pilar further helped in the damage control by sharing Shilo’s power-packed performance in case any Buffs haters have overlooked it. She came with a heads-up posting a montage accompanied by a sharp caption, “Just in case you missed any one of the highlights. Go, Shilo Sanders.” After all, Shilo’s win is her win as well.

The doting mother was ready to go to any lengths to make Shilo’s life easier. The Buffs’ safety suffered a broken forearm injury. The news was flashed by his concerned mom who was all ready to travel between her professional base from Alabama to help Shilo in his recovery in Boulder which makes up to more than 1,000 miles.
