Can Deion Sanders prove his doubters wrong and lead Colorado to a stunning victory against NDSU?

Back in late April, Deion Sanders and Colorado hosted a star Hall of Famer guest. The former 6x Pro Bowler graced Colorado’s spring Prime’s Got Talent show as one of the judges alongside Coach Prime. Fast forward to late August, Terrell Owens is back again in Boulder hyping both the program and fans alike.

In his 16 seasons in the NFL, Terrell Owens recorded an impressive 15,934 receiving yards and 153 TDs. Given the relationship between Deion Sanders and the star WR who played together in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys, it’s not surprising why, years later, he’s still hanging around Sanders and his program.

As Colorado gets ready to face FCS asset North Dakota State tomorrow, supporters have come from far and wide, including Terrell Owens. According to an X post on August 29, “Hall of Fame WR Terrell Owens is in Colorado for tomorrow’s game.”

The presence of this acclaimed former player is undoubtedly going to boost the excitement among the players who might feel the need to impress. Owens had been scrutinizing the Buffs, and his attendance at tomorrow’s game could be to see how the Buffs fare in practice and real action. He was present during a practice in August, watching the team on a golf cart from afar, showcasing the loyalty and interest he has for the team. Last October, he made a bold prediction on Deion Sanders and Colorado saying, “What he’s doing there at Colorado, in a couple of years if he stays there, Colorado’s gonna be Alabama.” Would Shedeur Sanders and Co. help in fulfilling Owens’ claim for Deion Sanders and Colorado?

Deion Sanders is wary of the matchup against NDSU

It may be an FCS program, but NDSU isn’t just any FCS program. They’re a powerhouse, with 17 national titles under their belt. And Deion Sanders knows they’re not a program to mess around with. Ranking No. 2 in the nation in the FCS, the Bisons boast an All-American star QB in Cam Miller. Still, the Buffs aren’t short of talent either.

Colorado features some of the top players, including Shedeur, who is projected as a potential Heisman Trophy winner and one of the top QBs in the 2025 NFL Draft, and phenomenal two-way star Travis Hunter. Besides, with their revamped roster, especially with a new dominance in the O-line, the Buffs look more formidable than ever before. They’re a 9.5-point favorite to triumph over the Bisons.
