Did Deion Sanders cross the line by snubbing the CBS reporter, or was it justified?

As another day passes, we get closer to why Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders recently snubbed a CBS reporter. On Friday, August 9, Coach Prime took to the stage to face the media. However, things instantly went awry when a reporter with the “CBS” tag was about to approach Deion with his question. What the Buffs HC did next was to shut him off immediately. While the Buffs haters lassoed CBS’ poor ranking for Deion’s mistreatment, an On3 Recruits analyst forged a new theory. That’s nothing but a case of trust betrayal. Earlier, Deion, too, had come up openly about this incident on Instagram.

The reporter involved in this incident introduced himself as Eric Christensen of KCNC. When Deion snubbed him, he ensured to clarify that it had nothing to do with the reporter personally but rather the media conglomerate he represented. But that did not stop haters from stripping off the coach. They connected Deion’s angst with CBS’s “flop” score. According to the reports, CBS ranked Deion as the 61-best coach in CFB. Here enters On3 analyst Philip Dukes with his take on the situation. To him, poor ranking cannot influence the Buffs HC’s meltdown. He started with, “Let’s just get this straight. Deion Sanders is not mad because of that ranking.”

And how could he be so sure about the fact? After all, Coach Prime has grown the “thickest skin” after years of getting grilled in the football landscape. “He’s used to it his whole career whether player or coach he’s always had to prove people wrong,” pointed out Dukes. Plus, these rankings are in no way going to affect his playoff dreams.

It was then that Dukes hit the core point: “So if you want to know why Deion Sanders reacted the way he did, there was an abuse of trust between the two, and I’m sure that will be expounded upon later on, but as far as what I can say, it was way deeper than a ranking.” Coach Prime, too, served up hot takes to those who assumed too soon.

Deion is hitting back at the haters

On August 13, given the dirty attacks approaching him, Deion had to let his guard down. He took X to take a stand for himself. Sharing Dukes’ YouTube video, an angry Buffs HC came up with a sharp caption. Deion wrote, “Thank u my brother for keeping some things unspoken. We love it when they A*Sume. Lolololol The insanity is better than Sanford & Son at times.”

Even amidst the tumultuous times, he thanked the analyst for revealing the truth behind Deion’s decision not to answer the CBS reporter. “Keep up the outstanding Reporting and keeping it. Relationships in this business is everything. God bless my brother,” wrote Coach Prime. Does this mean the Buffs HC was right when claiming he’s being criticized differently?

At the Big 12 media day on July 10, he said: “I’m judged on a different scale. My wins are totally different than your wins.” Now that Deion has been dragged through the dirt for turning the reporter down, it’s now to be seen how he proves the haters wrong by acing the championship.
