The 2024 WNBA draft festivities began a couple of days ago, even before April 15th with orientation. One day before the Orange Carpet, the “Best batch of WNBA drafts” visited the Empire State Building in WNBA hoodies. Sharing laughs and selfies, the very chirpy Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, and others commemorated the occasion with a group selfie.
Sharing it on her Instagram story, the Bayou Barbie showed that she indeed knows how to get along with her peers outside of the lines. She captioned it, “Whole lotta buckets at the Empire State Building.” The selfie included Dyaisha Fair, who stands as the first Syracuse player to be invited to a WNBA draft event and the third all-time scoring leader in women’s basketball. Aaliyah Edwards of UConn and Marquesha Davis of Ole Miss also joined in on the photo.
Certainly, the girls appeared quite happy to take over Manhattan City’s tourist attraction as a break from their strenuous hooping. In fact, Angel Reese even made a friend as she posed alongside the statue of a sitting man. Right after their trip was over, the girls got busy as Mielle Organics came loaded to style their hair. And then, it was time for the much-awaited WNBA draft.

This class was fire, quite literally. Every one of the lottery picks this year knew how to bring the heat on the floor with their hooping skills and also how to raise the temperatures outside of it. Boasting fits from the likes of Prada, Bronx and Banco, and Jimmy Choo, this group of stellar athletes has genes for everything from the court and off of it.
In fact, Angel Reese broke the internet with her “impromptu” choice for the night. The Bayou Barbie talked about her dress with ESPN’s reporting ladies, telling them the story behind the look. In fact, she brought out Florence Pugh’s avatar from the Dune-2 premier with the hooded dress.
Reese is the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. Surprisingly, she will get to now partner with her high school and college rival Kamilla Cardoso who is the third overall pick. The two will be playing for the Chicago Sky. With their duo, the Chi-town is surely getting queens who are feisty on both ends of the court.
