The Dallas Cowboys are in bad shape this season. Not looking playoff-ready with a slim chance of even making it to the postseason, the team had a special visit from some of the players’ significant others. While all the attention seemed to be on Cade York and his girlfriend Zoe Dale, who is a cheerleader for the Cowboys, there was also Jake Ferguson and his basketball-playing girlfriend Haley Cavinder.

The Miami Hurricanes, currently in her fifth year of eligibility at the school, paid a visit to her boyfriend and posted a story of the couple sharing a kiss before the game. Decked out in her usual fashion, a picture of which she posted in the previous story, Cavinder’s outfit was from Amazon, from a series called Game Day Outfits made in collaboration with her twin sister Hannah.

She also posted an Amazon link to the outfit she wore, which totaled $444. Here is the breakdown –

While Monday Night Football got to see Cavinder on a night off from Hurricane duties, it was also a special night for Ferguson. The tight end had been out of commission since Week 11 with a concussion but made it back in time for Week 14 to start. However, it was still a 27-20 loss for Dallas. It seems like the special token of love did not help Ferguson and the Cowboys last night.

The couple, who have been linked since October 2023, are often present at each other’s games whenever they can. Ferguson was even spotted wearing a No. 14 Miami Hurricanes jersey before a game once, in honor of his girlfriend. Cavinder will now return to the University of Miami where she is averaging 16.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

But it was still a sweet stolen moment for the couple, who have not had it easy ever since going public with their relationship.

Cavinder and Ferguson had originally met online in June (each maintains the other DM’ed them first) and went out on a date since both were in Florida. “And then hung out for 10 days straight,” Cavinder revealed. However, when they finally made it official in October 2023, the internet trolls were waiting in the wings and it took a toll on the 23-year-old.

“I’m a confident girl, but when people are saying stuff about you — if you have a boyfriend and someone is talking about you online with your boyfriend… like coming at your features — I’m like, this is new and obviously Jake is a great guy, but you don’t want to be called ugly on the internet 24/7, and your boyfriend sees it. That’s not going to make anyone feel cool,” she said in a Q&A with her sister on YouTube.

“So I had a mental breakdown, but that was a while ago.” Their relationship has easily passed the one-year test, so not much the trolls can say about them now. While each half of the couple will be cheering for the other from the sidelines as they excel in their sport, they’ll be looking for some good luck to guide them along.
