The 2023 was Angel Reese’s reckoning year. She came of age as the Lady Tiger and clinched championship with style. The Maryland magic’s brand value grew manifold, while her love life bloomed before her millions of online fans. The Bayou Barbie as a swimsuit model stole spotlight and featured in big events and parties. But at the fag-end of the year, she passed through a rough patch and made a roaring comeback.

The LSU star was on the top of the ladder. Her dominating performances made her the talk of the town. Her court stunts also swelled her troll base, but Reese kept making moments with a free-spirited attitude. Some of these moments have now become the major highlights of the year.

The LSU Tigers were the underdogs of the 2022-23 NCAA season, and leading this pack was Angel Reese. Reese helped the Tigers throughout the season with her exceptional skills and dominating talent and because of her the Lady Tiger successfully reached the champion finals to face off against another superteam of the league, the Iowa Hawkeyes being led by Reese’s archrival Caitlin Clark. This match was full of emotions for the basketball community, as they saw record-breaking viewership, rivalry, and even some WWE reference on the court when Reese did the ‘you can’t see me’ gesture.

While this gesture received mixed emotions from the fans, the Bayou Barbie remained unaffected because of her unapologetic attitude and led the Tigers towards glory and became the 2022-23 NCAA season champions.

The shoeless defense

In a game against Arkansas last season, Reese made sure that the fans were going to remember her name. In the third quarter of the game, the ball was in possession of Samara Spencer of Arkansas. During this play, Reese lost her one shoe and attempted to use her free time to put the shoe back on. But as soon as she tried to put it on, Spencer rushed towards the basket to score a point. However, having eagle eyes, Reese caught her trying to score, and with a shoe in one hand, Reese rejected her and stared her down as she fell.

Witnessing this play, the crowd went crazy and after the game ended, Reese was trending all over the internet, leaving the fans globally in awe.

Beef with Caitlin Clark

The 2022-23 championship win wasn’t just the only highlight of Reese’s career. In the final moments of this highly anticipated match, it could be seen that the Tigers were going to win the match as they were leading with a huge score difference. So, Reese was seen doing the ‘You can’t see me’ gesture by John Cena in the face of Clark while pointing towards her ring finger suggesting that they have won the championship ring.

Several fans took this moment to social media and called her ‘classless’ because of her act. But as soon as the hate spread, Reese’s supporters highlighted that this was a huge bias as when Clark did the same thing she was praised. The clash between Reese and Clark became more than a mere sports controversy, it evolved into one of the most significant beefs between players in the history of NCAA basketball.

The Holidays with Beau

After a rollercoaster ride during the NCAA season, the LSU Tiger star went on a trip with her boyfriend, Cam’Ron Fletcher, to NYC to spend some quality time together during the Christmas holidays. From visiting games together to going live, the star couple made the best use of their holidays after facing some tough time.

Reese’s Roaring Comeback

The 2023-24 NCAA season started with a huge upset for Angel Reese as she became the target of criticism when LSU lost their season opener game. But this wasn’t just it, as in the Tigers’ game against Kent State, Reese was benched during the first half of the game because of unknown reasons. Following this heartbreak, she went absent from straight four games for an attitude adjustment, according to some reports.

But Reese didn’t let this setback get in her head and made a tremendous comeback in a game against the Virginia Tech Hokies dropping 19 points and securing nine rebounds.
