No wonder the professional teams would be cawing in Cameron’s yard as they are all set to pick this impeccable Stanford player for themselves. However, she still has a minute left with the Cardinals. Moreover, she has also not declared herself open for this year’s draft. Nonetheless, in a post-game interview, she may have given everyone an inkling. Apparently, Cameron Brink’s grandmother– Mary Brink– lives very close to Phoenix. This may seem to be a reason why Cameron would like to be a part of the Phoenix Mercury. To add to the fact, Mary also represented the Phoenix Mercury back in 1997.

Adding a humorous comment, Cameron also said that she loves the weather in Phoenix. Moreover, it seems like Diana Taurasi who is currently on Mercury’s roster and Brittney Griner who wishes to be back there in 2024, both somehow entice Brink. In the interview, she added, “To play with Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi would be amazing. Amazing opportunity wherever it is, wherever I end up.”

In the interview, she also tells us which skills she is working on. She said, “I’m definitely working on my guard skills, shooting, and ball handling because I’ll probably not be at the center next year.”

Whether she goes to Phoenix or Los Angeles, who just might get the star player in their lot, it is a surety that she will only add value to the team. Currently, she is among the top scorers and rebounders in the nation with an average of 17.4 points and 10.8 rebounds. Hence, she will definitely improve the team’s offensive as well as defensive front, no matter what position she plays at. But, these are all just WNBA draft rumors so far. We can only wait and watch if she will declare eligibility this year.
