This year’s WNBA draft class is turning out to be one of the most talented and unpredictable in recent history. From scoring powerhouses to consistent performers who’ve honed their game, these players are acing it all! While Paige Bueckers has long been the projected No. 1 pick and the rankings seemed pretty set, things have gotten interesting. First, Olivia Miles shook things up, and now Aneesah Morrow is climbing the charts, making this a tough call for scouts.
LSU is on fire this season, sitting at a perfect 20-0 after their recent win against Florida, and a big part of their success is thanks to Aneesah Morrow. When Angel Reese left, everyone thought LSU would miss their double-double queen. But Morrow stepped in and pretty much said, ‘Not on my watch.’
Morrow has been a picture of consistency, notching her 10th consecutive double-double against Florida with 20 points and 10 rebounds. This marked the 92nd double-double of her career—tying her with Oregon’s Jillian Alleyne for the second-most in NCAA DI history.

While Morrow won’t be able to break the all-time record (Courtney Paris 128), she has a real shot at becoming only the second player ever to hit 100 double-doubles. Even announcer Jimmy Dykes is all praise, saying, “She’s tremendous at a lot of things. She’s a star at consistency.”
That’s right, @CoachJimmyDykes, Aneesah Morrow is a STAR 🤩

And she is! The LSU senior is averaging 18.6 points, 14.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists while shooting a solid 53.9% from the field. She’s an exceptional scorer and rebounder. However, there’s been some concern about her 3-point shooting—until now. Morrow worked on her long-range game, improving her 3-point percentage from 21.7% last season to 40% this season.
No doubt why fans are now rooting for her to break into the top five picks, possibly even as a contender for No. 1. Add that to the buzz around Olivia Miles, who’s averaging 16.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 7.2 assists, and you’ve got another star making her case for the top spot.
And, obviously, Bueckers is still in the mix with her 19.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on 56% shooting. Can Morrow make it to the top 5?
Aneesah Morrow’s draft buzz is getting loud, and fans are all in
A lot of people are ready to see Aneesah Morrow’s name called early, like very early. One fan boldly declared, “Number 1 pick. I said what I said. Most complete player consistently.” And, well, they’re not wrong. Morrow has been a walking double-double this season, averaging 18.6 points and 14.4 rebounds.
In fact, she’s scored in double digits in every single game except one and pulled down double-digit rebounds in all but one as well. That’s the consistency you can’t ignore. Then there are the Dallas Wings fans chiming in, saying, “Dallas Wings should find a way to get back into the 1st round to draft her.”
Wings already hold the first lottery pick this season, but some supporters are hoping they’ll maneuver to snag Morrow, too. But, obviously, the LA Sparks fans aren’t staying quiet. “I would take Aneesah Morrow over Kiki,” one fan confidently said, and there’s a debate brewing.
Kiki Iriafen is currently projected as the No. 2 pick for the Sparks, averaging 18.6 points and 8.6 rebounds. Solid numbers, no doubt! But Morrow’s near-perfect consistency and rebounding dominance have fans questioning if LA might reconsider.

And not to forget the Liberty faithful chiming in with, “Liberty we drafting Aneesah Morrow at 7.” Now, the Liberty hold the seventh pick, and while Morrow is projected to go eighth to the Fever, it’s not hard to see why New York fans have a say. Pairing Morrow with Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu would be an offensive powerhouse.
Another user added, “With the second pick in the 2025 WNBA draft, the LA Sparkle Trees select Aneesah Morrow” 🌝. Alright, they might’ve been playing the announcer, but the message is clear. Sparks fans are pretty much ready to lock Morrow in at No. 2.

Her shooting paired with Cameron Brink’s defense could be a game-changer for LA, giving them a young, versatile frontcourt to build around. Nevertheless, for now, it’s all speculation. With April just around the corner, we’ll soon find out if the hype translates to a high draft pick for Aneesah Morrow.
