The Lady Tigers are roaring out loud in the NCAA following their 4-1 record in the tournament so far. Currently sitting at the 7th spot, LSU will look to extend their winning run when they take on the Texas Southern Tigers on Monday. However, the talk of the town is the absence of their best player last year- Angel Reese. The Bayou Barbie’s exclusion from the starting 5 has put head coach Kim Mulkey under a lot of scrutiny.

LSU fans got another shock when Reese did not join the team yet again against the Southern Tigers.

Angel Reese misses out yet again

After refusing to comment on her decision from the last game, the LSU boss still doesn’t have an explanation for not including the powerful No. 10. She is hopeful that the team can put on a dominant display at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center with the likes of Hailey Van Lith stepping up for the team. At the same time, the No. 11 point guard is also comfortably filling up Angel’s shoes. Recently, Hailey scored a good 16 points with 5 assists and 2 rebounds for her team in the game against the Southern Tigers. 

Nevertheless, everyone loves seeing Reese on the court with her infectious energy. Moreover, she also leads the team and keeps them high on adrenaline to give their best. Currently, Angel Reese averages a score of 18.7 points per game. On the other hand, Hailey stands at an average of 15.2 points per game. However, an average score per game might not be everything to be a good leader. This is supported by the fact that the Lady Tigers are winning back-to-back even without Angel’s presence.

What is the reason behind the rumored suspension of Angel Reese?

No one from the LSU team is coming forward to address the rising concern about the tenacious forward’s absence on the court. Following this, the recent online back-and-forth between Angel’s mother and Flau’jae’s mother only adds to the suspense. The drama began when Angel Webb Reese commented on Flau’jae’s grammar. In response, the No. 4’s mother shunned her, stating that Angel gets a 2.0 or less GPA.

Further, Flau’jae’s mother asked Angel Webb Reese to stop being hateful and be responsible. Only time will tell whether this was a poke at the reason for the rumored suspension.
