Angel Reese is a rockstar. The NCAA sensation has bagged Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals worth $1.7 Million. Today, she boasts of one of the best lifestyles by a college athlete. But not many know that Reese had humble beginnings before her life took a miraculous turn. Reese opened up on the same when she was interviewed for the cover feature of the Women’s Health Magazine.

The Baltimore-born landed her fourth magazine cover feature recently and had a recap of her journey with Amanda Lucci. And her fans couldn’t help but laud the NCAA star for her exceptional breakthrough.

What did Reese say?

Reese recollected her school days disclosing that “Our school was literally across the street from a prison.” She also exclaimed that “lucky enough to have skills and be able to make it out of there,” as per Women’s Health Magazine. Knowing the tough conditions Reese has emerged from, her followers could not help but praise the baller for not cracking under pressure and making it out of there.

Reese, who grew up in Maryland, was born to Angel Webb Reese and Michael Reese. Both of her parents used to play basketball, but she was emotionally distant from her father and was raised by a single mother.

The 21-year-old had been schooled with the help of scholarships as per Women’s Health Magazine when she attended the Saint Frances Academy. It was specifically the competition in her school that gave an impetus to Reese to be the best player.

She trained under head coach Jerome Shelton and was also a teammate to the future WNBA athlete Nia Clouden. Reese was exceptionally talented since she could play all five positions with ease.

She achieved a lot of accolades for her potent display both above her age group and also on the boys’ team. Therefore, with her skills, it is no surprise that Reese has now made it to the list of top college basketballers of the current generation. Meanwhile, Reese has also given back to the community.

How has Reese given back?

Reese donated $12,000 in August last year to her school St. Frances Academy. As per Yahoo News, the donation was made to help cover the tuition costs of a basketball player. The news was broken during a “Back-to-School Giveback Block Party” which was hosted by the Angel C. Reese Foundation. Additionally, school equipments were also given to students.

Such stories only demonstrate how much Reese has grown over the years, and how she can be an inspiration for all. Other than that, her penchant for giving back to the community highlights the fact that she still chooses to believe in humanity despite being such a big star.
