With NCAA season around the corner, teams are busy playing exhibition games. This preseason play is a transformative process to test players, form different combinations and give benched players a chance. In one such exhibition game between the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Saint Augustine, point guard Elliot Cadeau stood out for performing a poster dunk.
The 6’ 1” point guard won hearts and received applause from the crowd for his exemplary shot. But beyond his fresh fire, the freshman has been making some silent strides in the college basketball circuit.

The poster dunk came when the Tar Heels were leading with a huge margin of 86-41 in the second half of the game on Friday night at the Smith Centre in North Carolina. Cadeau had already impressed everyone with his no-look assists and established his presence by proving he was no less a scorer.
For the unversed, Cadeau is a freshman at the North Carolina Tar Heels who plays as a point guard. He was a consensus five-star recruit and one of the best players for the 2024 recruiting class. However, the 19-year-old reclassified to 2023 and made his way to the Chapel Hill.
Although he was born in the USA, Cadeau has represented Sweden internationally and clinched a gold medal during the FIBA Europe U18 Championship Division B. The Brooklyn-born entered the match against the Saint Augustine at 16:45 along with Zayden High. The ACC Preseason Rookie of the Year basketed 7 points with a decent 3 rebounds and nominal 4 assists during the game.

How did North Carolina Tar Heels perform?
The University of North Carolina decimated the Saint Augustine by a colossal margin of 117-53 during the exhibition game at the Smith Center on Friday. The UNC will contest against the Radford Highlanders on November 7 in their first NCAA match of 2023-24 season.
With a win-loss ratio of 20-13, the UNC had occupied the seventh position in the Atlantic Coast last year. With Cadeau in the team perhaps they can improve upon their last year’s score.
