Edgecombe is extremely athletic and has a good basketball acumen. His speed and finesse are unmatched. He is also quite tall when compared to other school athletes with 6-foot-5-inches height. His height however hasn’t hindered his agility. He is one of the best playmakers in the school balling circuit and has incredible shot-creation abilities. He mostly uses orthodox moves with step and burst that help him invade the defenders of his opponents.
The Bahamas-born baller uses his strength to his advantage and was seen making dunks in the game. He potted 18 points during the match which also led him to win the MVP. He is incredible both as a connector and when he takes charge as an alpha. Edgecombe’s ability to shoot on the move or away from the dribble is one of the most exceptional skills he possesses.

He was a gem to watch even during his junior year with the Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School. Previously, he was with the Victory International Institute but chose to ply his trade for the LuHi. His junior season stats of 15.5 points per match with 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest propelled the LuHi to win the state championship.
An incredible partnership
The New York Gatorade Player of the Year forms an exceptional partnership with Carmelo Anthony’s son Kiyan Anthony. Kiyan is unparalleled in the open court and is hard to guard. He is an excellent player of pick and roll and has game-changing insights that help him pervade defenses. Kiyan is also brilliant in the lanes and uses his height to his advantage. For his playing style and shooting skills, Kiyan is also compared to his father.

Kiyan is unhindered in the opportunities he creates in his plays and easily finds open spaces that help him rake up shot after shot and tick the scoreboard. He is one of the best isolation scorers in the high school circuit and therefore forms a phenomenal partnership with Edgecombe.

As per LuHi head coach John Buck, Kiyan has “an advanced level” skillset and displays “understanding that most kids may not have.” The Crusaders will play their next match against the La Lumiere on January 4 and hopefully, Kiyan and VJ can once again rattle the opponents with their impeccable coordination and finesse.
