Who Is Angel Reese’s Father? Did He Ever Play NCAA Basketball?

Fandom of ‘Queen’ Angel Reese is growing. Apart from her court brilliance, her personal life equally fuels her fanbase. The self-proclaimed Bayou Barbie has basketball in her genes. That is to say that her father is no novice when it comes to the game his daughter plays like a champ.

But not much is known about Michael Reese. What is certain is that he has also been a part of the basketball world just like the star performer of the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team. But who exactly is he and what has his career in the NCAA been like?

Michael Reese and his NCAA career

Angel Reese’s father Michael Reese is also a well-known baller. He is a 6’8″ former forward from Washington D.C. The Boston University had Michael on their team for his first season. However, he later played for Loyola Maryland University for the next two seasons. He was the leading scorer in the team. Further, Loyola Maryland University reached the NCAA tournament back in 1993-94 for the very first time in its history under Michael’s lead.

Michael Reese later moved overseas to continue as a professional basketball player. Here, he had a good career as a baller. Michael’s talents helped him play in Luxembourg, Cyprus, Austria, and Portugal.

Since Michael was from D.C., many people believe that he has had an impact on her daughter Angel when it comes to trash-talking. However, it was “good energy” as remarked by his former co-players.

Angel Reese always talks about her parent’s influence on her game. Sadly, she often refuses to talk about her father. Apparently, her father and mother parted ways soon after the two kids were born. Angel Reese’s mother, also named Angel, was the one who raised her and her brother since she was a child. She is very close to her mother and her younger brother.

Angel’s mother, Angel Webb, is also a former baller. She has played college basketball at UMBC. Further, Angel Webb pursued her professional basketball career in Luxembourg. The University of Maryland, Baltimore County has even enshrined her in the Athletic Hall of Fame. This is when her number 10 jersey was retired and she was officially out of the basketball world.

Angel’s younger brother, Julian, is currently a sophomore forward in the University of Maryland.
