Hanna and Haley Cavinder were one of the firsts to get on the NIL wagon as soon as the ban was lifted in the summer of 2021. The twins had built a strong following since the pandemic when Hanna started with TikTok content and Haley blended in. But to help them kick start on capitalizing? Their father and eventually their family.
The Cavinder twins have now amassed a combined total of $1.7 million in NIL valuation and nearly 5 million in following across all social media platforms. Haley says she always knew she had an entrepreneurial mind and wanted to get into marketing. But that did not transpire without some help and early influence.

Hanna and Haley Cavinder were born on January 13, 2001, in South Bend, Indiana, to Tom and Katie Cavinder. It is here the Cavinder twins get their skills from.
Tom was a former basketball player at Nova Southeastern University before he moved to open the Southwest Elevator Company in 2003. He owns it independently and it has been like that since becoming a national brand. But he isn’t building it alone. His wife is a senior executive business manager with the company and is largely involved.
Haley admits that having a business owner for a father inspired them both to be entrepreneurial. But that it where his involvement is limited to.
Interestingly, Tom and Katie weren’t the biggest fans of Cavinder Twins’ TikTok presence in the earlier days. “My husband and I would be like, Why are you guys dancing around in front of your phone? How in the heck how are you going to make money from that?” Katie had said via GQ. But seems like with growth and realization, they’d be at the front lines in helping out.
When the NIL ban was to be lifted, Tom contacted Chase Garrett, the founder and CEO of Icon Source, who would ask them to have their profile ready. The father of 5 would also connect with Darren Heitner, their now lawyer and have their contracts drawn up and signed just as the ban lifted on July 1st. They’d go on to appear on CBS, ESPN, and ABC’s Good Morning America, and begin with their first social media shooting for Six Star.

“Grateful for everything you do for us, we love you,” they’d shared on father’s day last year. Tom, alongside Katie, has been a constant cheerleader from afar and from the stands. The mother of five has also appeared on their TikToks a few times, and for the twins, she is nothing short of an idol. “thank you for being our best friend & biggest inspiration,” they’d written on her 52nd birthday.

Brooke Cavinder, the eldest, works as a registered nurse at Banner Health in Arizona. Brandi Perkins who is two years older than the twins, played basketball alongside them at Gilbert High School in Arizona. thank you for being our best friend & biggest inspiration,” she had said. Natalie Cavinder, the youngest, is still in high school.
The Cavinders are one close-knit family and the twins venture ahead, they have assured constant love and support.
Basketball stars turned Entrepreneurs
The Cavinder twins, didn’t just land NIL deals worth nearly $2 million—they earned them. Over five years in college, they built a reputation for excellence, consistently averaging double digits in scoring while securing up to 31 deals in a single year.
But basketball isn’t the only arena where the Cavinders shine. They’ve teamed up with Under Armour, becoming key endorsers for the sportswear giant. Whether they’re rocking UA gear during practice or showcasing their game-day style, the Cavinders seamlessly blend athleticism with fashion.
Their entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t stop there. The twins also launched Hustle Beauty, Twogether, a fitness app, and are the hosts of Twin Talk podcast. They have also invested in Seoul Juice and Betr Media/Betr Holdings. Further, the twins offer an inside look at their brand’s journey on LinkedIn, sharing updates about new launches, empowering messages, and the hustle that drives their business growth.
With parents and sisters by their side, the Cavinders are only just getting started.
