If finding a dream place and making a spot for yourself was a talent, it looks like the formidable UConn freshman has got it. Stephon Castle entered a team that was already full of the heavyweight reigning champions. However, the 6-foot-6 five-star recruit took it to a completely different level. Stephon Castle was born on November 1, 2004, to Quanette and Stacey Castle. The family from Covington, Georgia, also has an older son, Quenton, and a young daughter, Staci. Their family also includes a loving and supportive grandmother (Quanette’s mother), Ann James, who lives in New York. Castle’s mother is a Delta Airlines employee, giving Stephon an inkling of hard work.
His father, Stacey, is a well-known figure in his state. In fact, he used to play basketball at the college level. In the 1990s, Stacey represented Wake Forest and the University of Central Florida. On top of this, he has a record of 11.4 points and 5 assists at UCF as a senior who graduated in 1995-96.
Certainly, his basketball genes come from his father, who, too, was a guard in his own respect. Clearly, his abilities to perform well on the floor, whether he needs to be a dominant guard or a wing, are a part of his father. What else characterizes the family of this rising star?
Stephon Castle has many gifts from his family
The Castle family is a little conservative. While they are appreciative of Stephon’s achievements, they are also very critical. According to Dan Hurley, they are the main reason why the 19-year-old is humble and keeps his team ahead of himself. Apart from being caring, loving, and supportive, the Castle family has one more knack.

They like to give unexpected presents. In fact, Stacey and his mother-in-law, Ann James, both planned a surprise visit to Storrs for Stephon. The entire coaching staff was also involved in the plan as they brought the Big East Freshman of the Year’s dream to life. He had always wanted to play for Dan Hurley, among the seasoned players.
Another family that Stephon Castle has, in the form of his teammates, is also no less than his actual family. Everyone on the UConn roster is a senior at Castle, and hence, he is always finding ways to learn new things from them. At the same time, Karaban, Spencer, Clingan, and others give the freshman their due appreciation.
