Interestingly, Elizabeth’s mother and father are eminent figures. Her father Ralph Kitley was a decorated college basketball player at Wake Forest. In addition to this, he showcased his skills in Europe as well as in South America by participating in professional leagues in Germany and Brazil. Once he decided that it was enough for him on the court, the 6-foot-10 Kitley was appointed the Principal of Northwest Guilford High School. After this, he extended his services to Southeast High School and GTCC Middle College High School before retiring. Currently, he is associated with the Rowan-Salisbury Schools and has obtained an interim position there.

Moving towards Elizabeth’s mother Loretta, she has followed a similar path as her husband. Seemingly, she has served as the principal at Guildford County Schools. Moreover, she was also the ex-principal of the Early/Middle College at GTCC in Jamestown. Meanwhile, she has made significant strides in the fitness world by being a yoga teacher. The Hokies legend Elizabeth Kitley
Hardly anyone would argue that the senior center has transformed Virginia Tech from a challenger to a champion program. She has led the Hokies to win 115 games with a 66-11 record at home. Consequently, this has won her All-American recognition in the Second-team All-American by AP and USBWA in 2023 and 2024. Further, she is also a three-time WBCA Coaches’ All-American along with being a finalist in the Lisa Leslie Award, and Wade Trophy and was a Wooden Award All-American.
