Paige Bueckers plays for the UCONN Huskies as a point guard. Standing at 5 feet 11 inches, Bueckers was also named the Women’s Most Outstanding Player at Stephen Curry’s SC30 select camp. She suffered a career-threatening ACL injury before her junior year due to which she missed her 2022-23 season.

In December 2021, she was also sidelined for the majority of her sophomore year due to a tibial plateau fracture and lateral meniscus tear. Before the injuries, she had an average of 20 points, 5.8 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game, while maintaining an impressive 46.4% accuracy from behind the 3-pointer line.

In an interview with ESPN, Bueckers talked about her comeback on the court. She stated, “I’m feeling really good. I’m in a really good place physically, mentally. Still sort of getting the rust off. I haven’t played in over a year, so it’s going to take some time to adjust and get my rhythm and flow back. But super excited for practice to start, for games to be in the distance in which we can see, and just super excited to be on the court.”

Bueckers acknowledges the fact that regaining her peak performance will take some time, but she’s eager to embrace the upcoming season. The UConn coach, Geno Auriemma, has also acknowledged this fact, and he also recognizes her tremendous impact on the team, even in her limited time on the court.
