The Louisville Cardinals’ All-American guard Hailey Van Lith has taken a leap of faith by transferring to Louisiana State University (LSU) for the next NCAA basketball season. Van Lith has a distinguished career that includes 1,553 points and two selections to the NCAA Tournament All-Region teams. Her transfer to LSU has sparked anticipation and inquiries regarding her position on the team.
Meanwhile, Van Lith has been trying to integrate into her new team since her August arrival on the LSU campus. Recently, her new teammate Angel Reese celebrated her special day.

Hailey Van Lith just turned 22. This is her first birthday at LSU, with her having played her previous three seasons at Louisville. She played there as a fourth-year player with two years of eligibility remaining, averaging 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
Van Lith was especially impressive in 2022–2023, scoring nearly 20 points per game on his way to helping the Cardinals to two Elite Eights and a Final Four appearance. She is now prepared to put on the Tigers uniform and join teammates Flau’jae Johnson and Angel Reese on the court, strengthening an already-loaded roster.
Being her first birthday at LSU, her new teammate Angel Reese, wasted no time in making it special for her. Angel Reese posted a picture of Hailey Van Lith on her Instagram story, wishing her on her birthday. She wrote along with the picture, “happy birthday to HVL @haileyvanlith.”
Angel Reese wasn’t alone in wishing her as even the official Twitter handle of LSU Women’s basketball went on to wish her.

Hailey Van Lith had a wonderful summer, both on and off the court, and is now in Baton Rouge. Van Lith had a busy summer that included a trip to Italy, playing in the WNBA All-Star game, and representing the United States in the FIBA 3X3 World Cup, where she contributed to the team’s victory. She showed her talents at the 3X3 Women’s Series in Quebec, where she continued to dazzle spectators and rivals with her flashy movements on the hardwood.
Van Lith was essential in helping Team USA win the gold medal by defeating France by a final score of 16-12 at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup competition. This victory, her first as a member of the senior team and her fifth gold medal win while participating for Team USA, was a crucial turning point in her burgeoning career.

Van Lith added seven points and six rebounds to the game and also led the team in scoring in three games throughout the tournament.
Now that Van Lith is starting her first season at LSU, her fans are looking forward to her contributions to the team’s success. The LSU Tigers will return to action on November 17, and Van Lith’s addition is expected to shift the dynamic of the team.
