In the clash between Milwaukee Panthers and the IUPUI Jaguars at the Klotsche Center, the former defeated the latter by a blowout margin of 73-54 which grabbed all the eyeballs in the NCAA circuit. However, another incident in the game that was a point of discussion for all the fans was the fiasco between the Panthers’ guard Angie Cera, and Jaguars’ guard Tahlia Walton, proving that on-court brawls are common

The highlighted fight happened in the first quarter when around 3 and a half minutes were left for it to end. The Panthers had scored 10 points whereas the Jaguars were trying their level best to catch up on that lead with 5 points in their hands.

An ugly spat

The IUPUI had the ball in possession and were looking to create spaces to score. At this point, Cera was stationed near the rim to perform defensive activities whereas Walton was also near her as the former tried to screen her. The two however got tangled up and fell to the ground.

While Walton quickly tried to stand up and resume her game, Cera in a bid to get back up swept her legs which had Walton falling down once more. The duo after standing up got in a physical fight as Walton pushed Cera for her actions.

The referee immediately got in the middle and technical fouls were declared against both the teams. With this, the Panthers’ foul tally increased to 2 whereas the Jaguars’ foul record got to 4. Other than that, both Cera and Walton contributed averagely well for their team.

Cera played for 22 minutes for her team, potting 8 points, Walton scored none in the 13 minutes she played. Furthermore, Cera provided her team with 2 assists and Walton supported with 1. Nonetheless, the remaining players performed exceptionally to have a mediocre scoring match that caught the interest of the basketball fans.

How was the overall game?

The Milwaukee outfoxed their opponents in all four quarters. For them, the best performance was given by their forward Grace Crowley who smashed 13 points and nabbed 4 rebounds. Other than that their guard Jada Donaldson also stood up to the occasion to smoke 12 points. Thus it was a total performance from the Panthers that helped them beat the Jaguars by a 73-54 margin.

Hopefully, both Cera and Walton would have learned their lessons and now would be keen to outdo their opponents within the legalities of the game. Both of them can be discounted since such events occur in the heat of the matches and it also proves how both the players wanted to contribute to their team’s overall display.
