The high-flying UConn Huskies will look to extend their four-match win streak against the struggling Georgetown Hoyas, who will look to see the end of their current two-match-winless streak. Both teams will look to bring their A-game to the Entertainment and Sports Arena with the game set to tip off at 4:00 pm ET and be broadcast on SNY. The UConn Huskies have a 14-2 record while the Georgetown Hoyas are struggling with an 8-7 record this season.
Kelsey Ransom was the only bright spot in what turned out to be a pretty dull affair for the Hoyas in their last match against Villanova as they lost 77-62 despite her 10 points. Azzi Fudd, on the other hand, scored 23 points, along with Allie Ziebell (17 points— a season-high that more than doubled her previous best of seven points) and led the Huskies to a thumping 81-27 win over Xavier.
Talking about injuries, the Georgetown Hoyas are set to enter the game with a fully fit team whereas the UConn Huskies will be without their best player Paige Bueckers, who is out with an ankle sprain. It remains to be seen whether the absence of Bueckers will affect the Huskies as they have good depth in the guard sports with Ashlynn Shade and KK Arnold serving as good deputies. Now, let’s look at the predicted starting five.

While the game promises to be an entertaining affair, there are two players you should keep an eye out for. Azzi Fudd, the senior year guard of the UConn Huskies is averaging 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game this season. With the team’s best player, Paige Bueckers, out, Fudd stepped up, shooting an impressive 64.29% from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and adding three steals, showing that she is ready to lead the team’s offense in the absence of the star guard and will certainly be the one to watch out for if you are a Huskies fan.
Kelsey Ransom, the senior guard of the Georgetown Hoyas is averaging 20.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game this season and will look to continue her impressive season with another good showing against the big east leaders tomorrow and will certainly be the one to watch out for if you are a Hoyas fan.
According to the ESPN match predictor, the UConn Huskies have a 99% chance of winning tomorrow with Bleacher Nation predicting a 75-54 win for the Huskies. But don’t lose hope you Hoyas fans, this is basketball after all, and we have seen crazier things happen before!

How long will Paige Bueckers be out for?
Head coach Geno Auriemma revealed that Bueckers escaped a scary injury after she collided with Villanova guard Jasmine Bascoe. Unfortunately, he has confirmed that she will miss a week’s worth of basketball as she recovers from a sore ankle and knee sprain.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he said, “It’s a sprain. There’s nothing torn. There’s nothing crazy about it. … Her ankle is fine. I mean, it’s sore. Don’t get me wrong. It’s like her knee got twisted a certain way. Her ankle got twisted a certain way. It was just an awkward thing. But we’re hoping that we have her back in a week.”
