The No. 13 UConn Huskies are all packed up to display their howling performance as they host Providence Friars on 11 January 2024. The crowd at the XL Center, Hartford is probably going to be in favor of the Huskies as they currently have a better standing in the NCAA tournament.

Nonetheless, the two teams have come head to head multiple times in the past and Providence has proven its worth in many of them. Hence, it is not a surety to say which team is winning this one.

It is not news that the Huskies have been roaring up the hardwood with a decent 12-3 score so far in this season. On the other hand, the Friars seem to be having a mixture of good and bad games with an 8-8 record this season. However, this matchup of the teams has come up many times before, 66 to be exact. And in those 66 games, UConn reigned over Providence a whopping 45 times. This is almost a 2/3rd win percentage compared to their losses. Further, the Huskies have performed enormously this season, seemingly getting the bets in their favor for this season as well.

At the same time, Providence is not looking good this season. Moreover, compared to the other teams in the Big East Conference, the Friars sure need a better outlook to even come close to winning tomorrow. However, there is no denying that this team has come so far with a robust resilience that sure is courageous. Further, their last match in 2023 only had a difference of 10. This team has performed well in the past against the Huskies. They have the potential to get a beat out of this match once again and break this difference.

Leading the Huskies is Paige Bueckers who is one of the top players in the WCBB today. After most of UConn’s members got injured, she seems to have single-handedly taken care of the team’s performance. She currently has an average of 19.3 points and 53.9 field goal percentage. Other notable players on the team are Aaliyah Edwards, Ashlynn Shade, KK Arnold, and Nika Muhl. On the Providence roster is Olivia Olsen who is leading the team in most of the stats. She currently averages a decent 14.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.9 blocks. Other players to watch in their locker room are Grace Efosa, Brynn Farrell, and Kylee Sheppard.

There is no doubt that Providence is not throwing the towel without giving the best fight. However, UConn’s battle song is mightily more powerful and is also proving to work for the team. The fans are excited to see what the next chapter of these two teams reads like and so are we.
