An Instagram post declaring the same was dropped on the official handle of the LSU women’s basketball. It featured an interview with Reese where she was underlining the importance of the team and how despite her background from Maryland, the LSU has never made her feel like an outsider. It featured Reese’s close moments with her teammates and would have been a delightful watch for fans.

What did Reese say?

“I wanna leave my legacy as being unapologetically me. I want people to understand that they can play and be who they are while playing the game that they love. Being able to see what I have done, what we’ve done, what LSU has done in just one year has been crazy,” Reese stated among other things

Notably, Reese has a tattoo of ‘UNAPOLOGETIC ‘on her forearm and she personifies the word. The LSU won the NCAA Championship title last year and a major reason behind their success was their star Angel Reese.

Reese smashed a double-double in the final game with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She also had an exceptional 5 assists and 3 steals. It was her exploits throughout the regular season and the exemplary performance in the elimination round that culminated in the LSU winning the title.

Reese is known for her double-doubles. Very recently she completed her 51st double-double for the LSU during their game against the Auburn Tigers.“I don’t care about setting records. I don’t care about leading in double-doubles and points. I just want to walk out of here as a champion,” Reese stated in the video.

The 21-year-old as mentioned previously also thanked the LSU fans for supporting her throughout. Reese was previously with the Maryland Terrapins but had taken a transfer to the LSU after the 2021-22 NCAA Championship to hone her skills and develop under the head coach Kim Mulkey. And it certainly paid off when the LSU lifted the Championship.

Reese can return to the LSU if she decides to opt out of the WNBA 2023 draft. Meanwhile, fans would be hoping that Reese goes all guns blazing in the upcoming matches, much like how she has been performing which will help their team pave their way to back-to-back NCAA titles.
