The Lady Tigers have been one of the programs that have shown unconditional support to their players at every point. Whether it is about defending Angel Reese as she cried during the March Madness post-game interview after losing or Reese sticking up for Hailey Van Lith as she entered the transfer portal, they have had each other’s backs. While HVL may not be a Lady Tiger anymore, it does not mean she can’t stay connected with her former teammates like the rapping sensation Flau’jae Johnson. And by connection, we mean the Apple Cash deal.

Recently, the two collectively announced to their 2.9m total Instagram followers about the partnership through an advertisement. The song “Ooey Gooey” by Beginners featured the chorus saying, “That’s what friends are for.” The two ballers are texting each other about cake for a party in the creative play. Van Lith asks the Big 5, “Is the cake approved for the party lol?” HVL attached a photo of herself with a cake, which she baked and iced like a basketball.

Johnson replies to it with a video response saying, “Hailey! You’re a better baller than a baker. ” Consequently, she sends $20 using Apple Cash, asking the new Horned Frog to get a cake on the way. In turn, Van Lith says, “LOL. I’ll stick to ball.” Apple definitely used their friendship and bond as a perfect depiction in this light-hearted comedic promotion.

The two will soon begin practices after the holidays are over with their respective teams. However, until then, they are building their NIL empires.

Johnson has been making some huge waves in the NIL business. Not only is she a leading scorer in her team but is also doing great in the music industry. Hence, her total of 3.4m social followers come from the collective efforts on the floor and the recording room. Currently, the stellar lady Tiger stands at the 14th position in On3’s NIL 100 list.

She has a total value of $1.2 million and is at the top of the charts in terms of College Women’s Basketball NIL rank. The cake toppers for her contracts include Tinder, Mercedez-Benz of Baton Rouge, Powerade, Tampax, Raising Cane’s, and many more moguls.

At the same time, Hailey Van Lith is also getting up there. While she is only the fourth WBB athlete in the top 100 NIL rankings, the TCU guard is in the 71st position in the top 100. Moreover, her NIL valuation as of December, according to On3, was $565,000. However, after bagging some great deals this year, the former Lady Tiger may have a better positioning. Her ranking is also affected by the ever-growing followers she has, currently standing at 1.5 million. Her top cards have names like Adidas, LaCroix, and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Only time will tell if the two will be able to grow their foundations in the NIL market. However, Johnson has at least two more years to continue building her rapport. On the other hand, this will be HVL’s last eligibility year. It will be worthwhile to see if she can improve her numbers on the court and the top 100 NIL rankings this year.
