A Duke recruit’s raging game has drawn parallels with teammate Cooper Flagg’s formidable forte. The Huntersville native demonstrated his skill at spotting gaps in the defense and hammering the hoop with his deft maneuvers.

Isaiah Evans gave off the impression of being unstoppable, and his confidence revealed the beginnings of an exceptional player. His latest court outing only stamped seal on his super talent.

North Mecklenburg lately defeated rival Chambers 98-70 with the help of Isaiah’s super play. The first quarter began with Chambers leading 10-1, but Evans got hot, scoring seven points in a row. He ended with 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals, and 36 points. “THIS ENERGY IS DIFFERENT,” SLAM HS Hoops captioned Evans’ super play clip. Evans is a willing passer, a fantastic teammate, and an effective communicator, according to coach Duane Lewis.

Evans’ seldom-scoring display consisted of carrying out his team’s strategy. Initially, Chambers positioned Evans closely around the 3-point line, compelling the Cougars’ defense to use him as a driver. In the second half, Evans made 3-pointers and passed the ball for simple baskets.

Evans only established screens and opened doors for his teammates. The last five Chambers vs. North Mecklenburg games have been tight, with a couple going into double or overtime, such as the state quarterfinal playoff game where Evans scored more than sixty points.
