“Best of Both Worlds” is not just an album for the Lady Tiger Flau’jae Johnson but a reality. Angel Reese’s former teammate has been making a loud noise in the world of entertainment. During the season, she is dominating her opponents on the floor. Outside of the lines, she is releasing blockbuster records. To give her rapping career a huge leap, she has now joined hands with one of the greatest rappers of all time– Lil Wayne.

Last week, Flau’jae Johnson announced her soon-to-be-released collab with the songwriter. To increase the curiosity surrounding the music track, the YouTube account of WBB Clips posted a video from before the shooting began. Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to work with him, Johnson said, “Thank you for blessing me, man. This a blessing, this legendary right here.”

The two also broke out the names of who we might see featured in the video. But the best part indeed was that Flau’jae Johnson wanted to give back to LSU, where she won a National Championship ring in the very first year.

In her appearance at the 2024 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, Flau’jae Johnson teased why she wanted to create an LSU-based track. She opened up, “When you go to a college, you become a part of the whole. I’m dying a Tiger; I’ll tell you that. I really wanted to make (the video) LSU themed and just give something for Louisiana to hold onto.”

Hence, keeping up with the theme, we may catch Angel Reese’s ‘uncle’ and LSU alum Shaquille O’Neal. Maybe, he too will add some beats from his DJ Diesel avatar. Moreover, Sha’Carri Richardson, who also competed as a Lady Tiger might also give a cameo. As she awaits to unveil the exciting venture, here is how LSU has impacted Johnson’s dual career.

Flau’jae Johnson praises Kim Mulkey for her rapping career

College athletes with a good following today can very much rely on their NIL to achieve greater heights. Following the same, Flau’jae Johnson made sure to continue her dream of becoming a rap star just like her father. She told Axios’ Sara Fischer how Kim Mulkey pushed her to do something outside of the basketball court as well.

Talking about her choice to get into LSU, Johnson said that she aligned with the plans there. She further expressed, “Even though I did music, coach Mulkey still wanted me to come and not put me in a box. She even took me to the studio on my official tour.” Johnson added, “She’s like, ‘this is your dorm, this is where we practice, and this is where you’ll record.”

It is good to see how Flau’jae Johnson is doing everything she really wants. This season, most of the work for the Lady Tigers will fall on her shoulders after Angel Reese graduated from Baton Rouge. However, Kim Mulkey has added many more cubs into her pack of Tigers and just might give a strong Championship contention once again. Until then, we have a booming song coming soon.
