Caitlin Clark’s unthinkable feat has made her a sensational newsmaker overnight. Iowa’s icon is now head of the table with 3,685 points to her name. The record-breaking day was celebrated by all and sundry. Even Nike couldn’t stop itself from “Just Do It” moment. 

The sporting giant could be seen colored in Clark’s aura as they put up an outdoor advertisement featuring the NCAA icon with her famous signature shot.

What did the advertisement have?

Clark could be seen potting her long-range three-pointer in the poster on one side of the street. On the other side, just a few metres away from the street, there rests a basket with Nike and Hawkeyes logo. The caption near the rim of the basket states: “This was never a long shot.”

The advertisement probably highlights the fact that it was never difficult for Clark to reach milestones in her career, especially with her exceptional long-range shooting. Clark had previously surpassed Kelsey Plum, becoming the all-time leading scorer in women’s basketball and it was just time that she did the same even capturing the all-time leading scorer tag in men’s and women’s basketball combined.

Nike also released a commercial of the same on their official Instagram handle that featured the many accolades that Clark has piled on in these four years and they tried to inspire their target audience to “Just do it.”

Clark had previously signed an NIL with Nike in 2022 when the brand had also onboarded Bronny James, JuJu Watkins, DJ Wagner among other athletes. Since then Clark has become a face for the sportswear label and has appeared in its advertisements. It also fetches a major part of her NIL deal. Fans on the other hand went crazy after seeing the billboard.

What did fans say?

That’s why she’s the MVP, that’s why she’s the GOAT,” remarked one fan. Another opined that Clark was the best among the best stating: “Best NBA prospect we’ve seen since LeBron.” Another one also remarked: “She’s going to put the WNBA on the map,” which comes after Clark’s presence has been a major reason for the women’s college basketball craze. One even pointed out how Clark has taken difficult shots with ease: “That’s tuff.” One netizen also enunciated: “Greatest female to ever play basketball. ” A lot of other fans echoed the same sentiments indicating: “She’s going to singlehandily save the WNBA”

Now that Clark has accomplished the record, her fans would be looking forward to bringing the National Champion title to Iowa in the upcoming March Madness season. With a player of this quality, the dreams do look possible.
