Being a freshman, Reese had her future set firmly in mind. But this injury made her future uncertain, as she was forced to sit out from the sport she dearly loved. Reese called it her “lowest point” and stated that she “felt lost.”

She said, “Luckily, I was just a 30 to 40-minute drive away from home while I was in Maryland, so having my mom and supportive family visit occasionally was a great comfort.”
