Breaking several records, and projected to be the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Caitlin Clark gets to yet another milestone. The new shot in the arm came when she’s being hailed as the all-time leader to have 30+ point games over the last 25 seasons.

Touching new heights this season, Clark has already made a well-established name for herself on-court. Nonetheless, now her off-court fandom has added her name to No.2 on the list of female athletes making a significant impact.

In a recent X post, a picture of Caitlin Clark’s basketball card was kept aside Serena Williams’ tennis card. Notably, Clark’s basketball card was sold for $78000, making it a record-paid for a women’s basketball card. However, it is Serena Williams’ card that still holds the all-time record for a women’s athlete card to be auctioned for the most value, as it was sold for $266400 in May 2022.

Talking about women’s basketball, Clark’s card was sold for a value six times higher than Sabrina Ionescu’s basketball card which was sold for $11500. Clark has been performing exceptionally well in the ongoing season.

Clark has been a standout player for the Hawkeyes leading the NCAA Division I in points and assists in a single season. The traits that make Clark one of the best basketball players of all time are the consistent domination and her competitive spirit.

And there is a beautiful reason why Clark looks up to Serena. It is Williams’ fight against gender-based preconceptions throughout her career that became a remarkable example for Clark, hence influencing her path as an athlete.

Notable to mention, Clark too received support from Williams’ household. It was during a game against Michigan State that Clark’s buzzer-beater shot created a controversy. It was Serena’s husband Alexis Ohanian who posted his claim on X that Clark deserved the much-needed respect and that her shot be counted. This shows the mutual respect and connection shared by the two athletes.
