The current NCAA women’s division I basketball tournament has produced some of the biggest collegiate stars in the country today. With the likes of Catilin Clark and Angel Reese becoming household names in the past year, the popularity of women’s basketball continues to grow considerably. While the two stars have taken center stage in the women’s game there are the likes of Cameron Brink that look to dismantle the duopoly set by the two youngsters. Creating history of her own, Brink recently made headlines as she snubbed godbrother Stephen Curry’s company to sign with Boston-based corporation New Balance.

The deal sees her become the first woman basketballer to sign with the conglomerate making her one of the few female athletes to represent the brand. Tennis prodigy Coco Gauff is another star who reps the Massachusetts company and was given her flowers by all three NCAA rivals as the 19-year-old tennis star made history with her latest triumph.

USA star Coco Gauff recently upset Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open, as the 6th seed toppled the 2nd in an exciting bout. Losing the first set to a score of 6-2 Gauff seemed destined to lose on home soil before picking up the pace to win the second and third set with scores of 6-3 & 6-2.

The 19-year-old made history with this win as she became only the second American teenager to win a Grand Slam title since Serena Williams achieved this feat back in 1999.

Her win was celebrated across the country with NCAA rivals Catilin Clark, Angel Reese and Cameron Brink all joining the nation in congratulating the teenage prodigy. All three collegiate athletes honored Coco on Instagram as they were seen posting a story each celebrating the momentous occasion.

While Angel Reese and Catilin Clark shared a post by ESPN and ESPN Women respectively, Stanford star Cameron Brink was seen sharing a photo from the New Balance account as the 21-year-old seemed grateful to be brand-mates with the US Open champion.

Notably, Coco Gauff’s first Grand Slam, though an historic teenage win, was indeed overdue as the tennis star made her debut at the young age of 14.

Coco Gauff finally wins her maiden Grand Slam title after years of perseverance

Making her competitive bow in the ITF Women’s circuit in 2018 the Florida native has grown steadily since then, winning 13 singles and doubles titles throughout that period. But while she had won a number of tournaments Coco had never won a Grand Slam title prior to her win last night.
