Creighton was leading Nebraska 20-17 in the first quarter. With just three minutes to the break, Nebraska’s point guard Jaz Shelley attempted an ambitious 3-pointer. Apparently, the ball got deflected off the basket and landed in the hands of their No.32 Kendall Coley. She tried to score a rebound as she was quickly surrounded by four Creighton players. Following this, the junior guard started swinging her elbows. As a result, she fouled the No.21 of the Bluejays– Molly Mogensen. The official immediately blew his whistle to stop the game as the Creighton Bluejays fell onto the court.

Kendall Coley wasn’t aware of her surroundings while she was trying to create space for herself. Consequently, the head official wanted to have a closer look into this unobserved foul. The video showed that Coley made contact with Mogensen by bringing her elbow up. After carefully evaluating the situation, the officials ruled it as an intentional foul. The crowd reacted with boos following the call made by the officials. Following this, the Cornhusker’s head coach Amy Williams was seen having an animated chat with the on-court official.
