“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day,” reads Psalm 46 of the Bible, tattooed on Taylor Jones’ ankle. While it might be just another verse to some, for Taylor, it’s one she inherited from her mother. “When (my mom) was diagnosed with cancer, that was like her verse,” Jones said. “And our whole side of the family really used that and leaned on it and that sort of just became my verse too.”
Growing up with a father who attended Texas A&M, Taylor wouldn’t have ever imagined herself heading to the Final Four with the Longhorns. In fact, the burnt orange was despised in her household. When she decided to join the Oregon Ducks, her mother was supportive as ever, but she had always wanted Jones to be a Longhorn. In 2019, Taylor’s mother, Deanna Jones passed away from cancer, sparking a chain reaction that would see Taylor fulfill her mother’s dream and head to Texas.
Now heading to the Final Four, the lights are as bright as they get in college basketball. That won’t matter to Taylor. She will play on, in the comfort of knowing that her mom is watching from above: “She has the best seat in the house,” and while her career at Texas is already a tribute to her mother, it would make for a fitting ending to the fairytale if the Longhorns deliver the ultimate prize.

What are Taylor Jones’ NIL deals as of 2025?
Taylor Jones has one NIL deal (as per On3) at the moment. However, there is a possibility that her NIL portfolio goes beyond this, as NIL deal are of a private nature and the details are not available publicly unless revealed by one of the parties. Taylor also has a profile on Opendorse, a marketplace for autographs, shoutouts, social media posts and more. Another convenient way for student-athletes to make the most of their Names, Images and Likenesses (NIL).
In November 2022, Taylor and her Longhorn teammates volunteered at the Dell Children’s Medical Center as part of the NIL deal between Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships and the UT Women’s Basketball team. “You do something for us, and we do something for you, and I got to thinking, I’m not so sure I want these young lady athletes to sell cars for me, but then we got to thinking, what could they do to inspire a whole generation of children,” Nyle Maxwell said. For their altruistic endeavor, Taylor and her 11 teammates received $5,000, totaling $60,000 for the team. “These young lady athletes are very inspiring, and we wanted the patients to see that inspiration,” Maxwell said.
Taylor Jones is also an ambassador of Livestrong. As someone whose family was affected by cancer, she empathizes with the plight of these families and through her role at Livestrong, supports the development in cancer research and treatment.

Which high school did Taylor Jones attend?
Taylor Jones grew up in Forney, Texas, a suburb of Dallas and attended the Dallas Christian School. During her time there, Jones scored over 2,000 points throughout her high school career and earned two District MVP recognitions.
Taylor, in her freshman year, almost averaged a double-double recording 11.6 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. While it would be called impressive by many, she took a major jump in her sophomore year when she literally doubled her points per game. Averaging 22.1 and 13.2 rebounds, Taylor put herself on the map and established herself as a solid high school big. Riding out her sophomore year on a high, an injury to her hip would see her miss the entirety of her junior year and starting a chain of injuries which would trouble her in the future as well.
Entering her senior campaign, she understandably had some reservations about how her body would hold up on the court. Over the course of the season, she led all athletes in the Dallas area in rebounding at 16.3 per game. She got it done on both ends of the court. In addition, Taylor led her team in scoring at nearly 25 an outing while also rejecting almost 6 shots per game. Her relentlessness on the glass and ability to get buckets with her back to the basket allowed her to dominate as she posted a double-double in every single game she played that season! Owing to this, Taylor ranked as a 5-star recruit by espnW ‘Hoopgurlz’, checking in as the 42nd best player in the nation for the 2019 recruiting cycle.

What is Taylor Jones’ net worth and salary?
Taylor Jones’ net worth is not available publicly. While an estimate can be drawn up from the details of her NIL deal, these details are also not available in the public domain owing to the private nature of NIL deals. She does not receive a salary as she is a collegiate player and the NCAA bars its colleges from paying a salary to their student athletes. A rule that is set to change next fall as part of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2021 NIL judgement.
