The duo talked about all things splendid on a record-breaking day, and Clark displayed a sense of introspection when she opined on what makes her special. “I think it’s just the style of basketball that I play but also I think people like love the fire and the emotion I have. They like the smile I always have on my face. To be honest, I don’t get nervous for games cause like… I just know like… this is fun for me. People love the long shots, people love the good passing, people love the fire,” Clark stated.

As per NBC News, Clark’s record-breaking game had the entire America anticipating her moment of glory and attracted around 3.39 million viewers. This is a testament to where women’s sports has been heading since the NBA star Victor Wembanyama’s debut night was one of the most watched NBA games but had a tad lower 2.99 million average viewership. This clearly shows that America has accepted Clark as one of the major sporting icons and wants to watch her games.
As Clark rightly pointed out, her long-range shots are something that excites the whole country. Since she surpassed Kelsey Plum’s record with a three-pointer, her fans expected her to do the same while eclipsing Pete Maravich.

But ultimately, the most anticipated moment came about in a free throw. Nonetheless, Clark was the apple of the eye for her fans that day. Clark also talked about the moment when she registered her name in history and how special it was for a number of reasons.
A Special Moment
Talking about her record, Clark stated that “playing the number two team in the country, on a senior night, on our home court,” made the record really special. Hawkeyes were battling it out against Ohio State at the Carver Hawkeyes arena. She further stated that it was the best way to reach the milestone. “You can’t really script it any better,” Clark remarked.
