The 2025 WNBA Draft is quickly approaching, and things are starting to get really interesting. While everyone’s eyes are already locked on Paige Bueckers as the consensus No. 1 pick, Notre Dame star Olivia Miles is potentially moving up the ranks. While she was initially projected to be the No. 4 pick (and headed to the Washington Mystics), the way things are shaping up, we could see her land as high as No. 3—much to the delight of Sky fans, who are hoping she’ll be donning their jersey next season.
However, while Chicago fans are clearly excited, there’s still some radio silence coming from the player herself. Recently, a Sky fan (wearing Sky jersey) got a chance to meet Miles, even sharing pictures. But when it came time to ask the big question—would she be joining the Sky?—the Irish Fighters’ #5 was tight-lipped. She hilariously moved back saying, “I can’t answer that.” A few fans were left upset, a few took it as a hint of Miles considering the option, but they knew the star guard likely had no choice.
According to ESPN’s mock draft, Miles is still in line to go to Washington as the No. 4 pick. But we never know. You see, after missing out on the 2023 postseason and the 2023-24 season due to a knee injury, many questioned whether she’d still be the same player.

The hesitation lasted a while. People wondered about her 3-point shooting. But Miles has been proving everyone wrong. She’s back and better than ever. When the season opened, she wasn’t wasting any time reminding people of her talents.

She kicked things off with a triple-double in her first game of the season. Now she averages 16.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game. It doesn’t stop there. Miles’ shooting skills have been impressive with a 55.9% field goal average and nearly 45.9% from beyond the arc.
Hence, for the Chicago Sky, adding a player like Olivia Miles would be a game-changer. The Sky is dead last in the league in 3-point attempts (14.5 per game) and makes 4.5 per game. Moreover, their 30.7% shooting from deep is far from good. With an already stacked backcourt featuring players like Chennedy Carter, ‘Double-Double Queen,’ and one of the league’s best finishers in Kamilla Cardoso, adding a sharpshooter like Miles could be just what the Sky need.
They indeed need someone who can really stretch the floor. Additionally, it could give a boost to their ticket sales as the internet is already pumped about her potential Chicago move. While things are still uncertain, the senior keeps creating history.

Olivia Miles achieves what even Paige Bueckers couldn’t
When Notre Dame faced Virginia in a dominant 95-54 victory in December end, the Notre Dame guard made history. With 11 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds, Miles recorded her third triple-double of the season. She became the first collegiate women’s basketball player to achieve back-to-back triple-doubles this season, first since Caitlin Clark.
It all started with a game against Loyola Maryland, where Miles secured her fifth career triple-double, making her the first player in Notre Dame history—man or woman—to achieve that milestone. And this is in a program that’s been around for 128 years. That’s no small feat.

This speaks volumes about the baller’s potential. As for the Sky Nation? Well, they’re just hoping, and who knows? She’s certainly not shutting down the possibility of Chicago just yet. For now, fans will have to be patient. Let’s see how this all plays out!
