JuJu Watkins isn’t even 6 games old and her name is popularly used next to LeBron James‘ in sentences. It sounds like a hyperbole; it could be. Why are we even comparing The King with a female 20-year-old NCAA star? It could be a little unnecessary for most, but hear us out. The kind of talent that JuJu is showing, her literal stats, the raw numbers, everything is speaking for her. The numbers are giving her the space that she truly deserves, i.e. mentions and comparison with King James.

LeBron James even approves of Watkins by publically giving her a shout-out on his Instagram stories, saying “She’s the one”. So are they connected? If so, how? Let’s find out.

Before you jump to any conclusions, no, JuJu and James are not connected, at least in terms of familial bonds. At the same time, many believe JuJu’s destiny is similar to James’ in the women’s basketball world. Be it points, rebounds, assists, blocked shots, steals, or even victories, Watkins stands tall and proud alongside James as the only player to achieve elite status in a span of 6 college games or even pro games. Her scoring prowess, along with her contribution in different arenas, is helping transform the USC team, similar to the impact LeBron James has on the NBA teams.

Their comparisons are not just casual anymore; they are substantiated by numbers and the loud impact she’s making on the world of basketball. Apparently, in the past twenty years, no player in the men’s, women’s, or division-1 league has matched the stats that JuJu has after the LA Laker‘s icon.

The fact that Watkins’ stats from just 6 games are stacking up against any 6-games from James’ career is mindboggling in its own sense. But the fact that she’s still a college basketball player at USC, makes it even more remarkable.

Further, LeBron can always be seen supporting JuJu. Following this, he recently gave her a shout-out on his Instagram story showing his appreciation. With a mind-blowing score of 161 pts, 45 rebounds, 19 assists, 14 steals, 8 blocks, and 6 wins, King James is already calling her the National Player of the Year. He shared a post and added the caption, “I don’t wanna just hear Freshman of the Year Talk. National Player of the Year too. She’s the one.”
