The UCLA Bruins face one of their most disheartening moments. They lost their recent game against the California Golden Bears by a 66-57 margin. If that wasn’t enough, their head coach Mick Cronin faced backlash for not turning up for the team when they needed him the most. This made a lot of critics and fans question Cronin. And analyst Rob Dauster had something special to say about Cronin that echoed the fan’s sentiments.

Taking note of Cronin’s absence, Dauster was quick to hint through his words that it wasn’t the best response by the head coach to his team’s loss.

What did Dauster say?

Dauster didn’t mince any words in stating his reaction when he appeared on the ‘Field of 68’ podcast. He was a little taken aback by how Cronin had handled the situation and was very overt in expressing his disgust. Another host at the podcast John Martin also voiced his concern regarding Cronin’s behavior. “Come on! You got to show up man, Come on! What are we doing?,” Dauster exclaimed.

As per LA Times, Cronin chose not to show up after the Saturday’s game against the California Golden Bears. Notably, despite being a better team the UCLA Bruins lost to the California by a 66-57 margin. Post his loss, Cronin sent in assistant coach Rod Palmer to face the media during the postmatch press conference. This led to the media bashing over Cronin’s irresponsible behavior.

Palmer on the other hand, divulged as per LA Times that Cronin was busy having a chat with his team and did not want the reporters to wait. This just added fuel to the fire. Cronin had originally displayed his temper issues during the game when he started yelling at the officials after an objectionable foul in the first half.

As per the same media report, Cronin had lost his cool which also cost his team a four-point play. But this is not the first time that Cronin’s behavior is under the radar.

Cronin’s previous antics

The Bruins have an abysmal 6-9 record and before battling out the California, they had lost the game against the Stanford. The UCLA Bruins lost the game by a 59-53 margin and apparently have seven freshmen on the roster this season, making them the youngest team. Cronin blamed his team for the loss and specified: “The most important thing for a teacher is for his students to have aptitude or they can’t learn, they can’t apply, so your rate of progress and development is way too slow.”

Meanwhile, fans would not want to experience any other lows and would want Cronin and the Bruins to give their best with whatever they have this NCAA season. Hopefully, the Bruins can make a comeback and prove their mettle this year.
