For anyone who followed women’s basketball, none would argue that JuJu Watkins is the next star in the making. The 6 ft 2 in guard displayed a supreme exhibition of her skills as a freshman and took USC to their first Elite Eight in 30 years. In addition to this, she tumbled multiple records on the way, be it at the school level or on the national level. After this, this USC wonderkid is having a delightful time off the court. But meeting the Los Angeles Dodgers’ newest superstar, Shohei Ohtani and his wife might be her moment of the year already.

Los Angeles is the place to be if anyone wants to have a glimpse of the USBWA National Freshman of the Year. And that’s where Shohei Ohtani and his wife Mamiko Mingle were Thursday night. To make this outing more magnificent, both had a lovely interaction with the super-talented No.12 of the Trojans. To highlight this special meet-up, the USC Trojans shared a post on their official Instagram page.

Aptly titled, “JuJu x Sho Time. Aura,” it shows the excitement around LA sports. While the Lakers and Clippers might not be doing great, there are numerous other things to be excited about as a sports fan in the City of Angels.

The three of them attended the Blue Diamond Gala hosted by the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. All three of them turned a lot of heads with their striking appearances in their all-black elegance. The event also featured performances from entities of the entertainment sector like Ed Sheeran. Meanwhile, this is not the only place where Watkins stole the spotlight.

Donning a black cropped hoodie with white pants, JuJu Watkins got herself some NBA action recently. Similarly, she grabbed a lot of eyeballs when she went to enjoy the LAFC vs Portland MLS matchup. There, she decided to wear white-legged denim pants and a USC Trojan sweatshirt. On top of that, the thing that further enhanced her look was a pair of smart sunglasses. However, the interesting thing to notice here for the fans is that she appeared in a low bun instead of her signature one.

Speaking of her signature hairstyle, the 18-year-old recently opened up about it on Paul George’s podcast. Watkins said, “I just think it looks good. So, I just wear it. It’s been a thing since I’ve been doing it for a long time. My mom put me on.”

There is no denying that JuJu Watkins has made a tremendous start to her NCAA career. The kind of numbers she has stacked as a freshman speaks volumes of the incredible talent she has. Something similar would be expected of her by the fans when she steps on the court again next year.
