Tominaga basketed a whopping 28 points in the 27 minutes he played with a majority of his score coming in the second half. He reportedly smashed 18 points in the second half with 16 of them coming in less than five minutes.
The Japanese baller also demonstrated exceptional shooting skills, throttling 9-for-15 field goals and 4-for-10 three-pointers against the Hoosiers. Additionally, he also smoked 6-for-7 free throw tally that helped his team take an unassailable lead against their opponents. It was a season-high performance by Tominaga whose previous season best of 23 points had been against the Duquesne Dukes.
The Nebraska cruised past the Hoosiers seven minutes into the game when their guard C.J. Wilcher smoked a three-pointer to extend it to 18-13. The first half saw a lot of cut-throat competition in which the Nebraska outdid their rivals by a 41-33 margin.
